Tevita Pangai Junior all but certain to stay in Brisbane after verbally agreeing to two-year deal

WAYNE Bennett says Tevita Pangai Jr has pledged his future to the Broncos, with Brisbane staving off multimillion-dollar raids from Sydney clubs to secure the NRL’s hottest forward prospect.

In a huge boost for the Broncos, Bennett said Pangai Jr would resist the temptation to test his value on the open market by inking a new deal that keeps him at Red Hill until at least 2020.

That’s some a Sombrero they have in Brisvegas

What goes through these young players minds will resist the temptation to test his value , No Sombrero just being conned to play for less money …but they are footy players and obviously getting very bad advise .

We have to get away from the depth signing mentality. Every player we sign from now on must have a real upside about, maybe a boom youngster, or maybe a real established NRL player. Okay every club needs depth players, but at present 95% of our contracted players are just that…depth players

I mentioned earlier that we should try and get Jack Hetherington and Matt Lodge. There is an upside to both of those guys and I think we would have a realist chance of getting them since the teams they currently play for already have a surplus of boom players in their positions.

Conned to play for less money maybe, but playing with one of the glamour clubs and a very realistic shot at success on and off the field. I'd probably play for less also in that scenario.

Hahahaha took less money.

I don’t believe that anyone actually buys that crap.

Todd Greenburg and the NRL believe it.

Well, I think it's more that they know that it isn't worth their time trying to prove otherwise. They'd be out of a job before the investigation was finished.

If this **Leilani Latu** deal is done, he certainly is large lump of a lad:

Born: 5 February 1993 (age 25 years), Sydney
Height: 1.9 m
Weight: 120 kg

he was handful for teams to stop when playing with Penriff .. !!

A fringe first grader - yep, just what we need

I think we can scrub Kelly from our plans. Manly will be offering him a new and improved deal after his efforts this year and he has openly said he wants to stay

Yeah there is no point chasing someone who is adamant that they want to stay where they are. He has said it more than once.

My bet is he would go for $10k more or another year of security….talk is cheap

Isn't he one of IC's crew from Penrith days? I think he offers a bit of x factor that we miss in the forwards.

Brian Kelly looks the goods!

Oh and that Nathan Cleary kid isn’t bad too

Would make our day if Kelly left for the WTs. Tapau was a significant loss because we couldn't compete with the Manly offer which we know now they couldn't afford under the cap. The loss of Kelly to us would be recompense.

Was signed by Cleary but didn’t play under him after Gus said Ivan looked tired

Been getting a lot of info on a few deals possibly happening!

Hearing very recently that the eels really want Keary and the Roosters might be prepared to let him go

SURPRISE RUMOUR: I was told that the roosters are looking at Lachlan Coote

Norman is very likely to leave parramatta and ink a deal with the Raiders

Matt lodge is commanding interest with Penrith looking to bring him to the club, while looking at offloading Merrin and Tamou

Tamou is on the Knights wish list and is a real possibility to make the switch

While Merrin could very well be a tiger, as they’re on the verge of announcing the signings of Leilani Latu and possibly Brain Kelly
