Well that's the strongest indication that he ain't coming to our club.

We could sign Segeyaro to a 3 or 4 year deal. Farah will give us 1 more at best. Seems strange Cleary wants Farah. Another poster talked about Segeyaro’s character - maybe this is on the money

Cleary is probably comfortable going ahead with a combination of Robbie and Liddle not either or. If thats the case Segeyaro wouldnt be coming.

Have a little faith in Liddle, it seems he is Ivans man.

I do have faith in Liddle. He is our 9 moving forward. But he needs support and I think Segeyaro is a better longer term support than Farah

You cant have faith in Liddle and sign Segeyaro to 3 or 4 years. Liddle would have to be a bum to put up with that.

Like i said i think Ivan sees Liddle owning the 9 very soon, no need for Segeyaro.

Actually I can.

Liddle may not be an 80 minute player for some time to come.
Segeyaro plays well off the bench.
Makes sense to me.

MARTY’S A LITTLE ON THE NOSE
THE latest problem for Manly centres around Kiwi Test prop Marty Taupau and rumours he’s offside with some of his teammates.
Rival clubs are aware of the drum on Taupau and some have baulked at looking to sign him given the rumblings coming out of the Sea Eagles’ dressing room.
Taupau is still contracted to Manly for the next two seasons but other NRL sides have been quietly made aware that if they want to make a play, the big prop could be available.
Intriguingly, coach Trent Barrett benched Taupau against the Penrith Panthers last Saturday after initially naming him to start.
Taupau has again been named to start against Cronulla on Sunday.
There is no questioning his talent, but as we saw with Daly Cherry-Evans, Anthony Watmough and the Stewart brothers a few years back, divided dressing rooms are never an easy fit.

This is a concern , I am having misgivings to where this team is going in the short to medium term. Imo both should retire and the coach and management should be looking to fill the roster with younger talent as persisting with the grandfather figures nothing changes if anything another year older. Is this club ever going to get its act together.

I don't think this is an overly bad decision if they do sign for another year…..as long as they aren't presumed starters in the side.

In my mind, Liddle to start and Farah off the bench at some stage during the year. Benji a backup to Brooks and Reynolds. Should N Cleary somehow join the club in 2019, I would anticipate both to retire together.

There is little stock on the market. If Cleary isn't recruited in 2019, Farah and Benji will be low cost options (hopefully) allowing us to save more cash for 2020.

Things change every day. I still anticipate Reynolds going to Super League in 2020.
