Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We may have 29 layers by xmas but 25 that are crap and will lead to more disappointment next year we need 5 good players for next year.

Must have given you some joy on this years performance ….. :crazy

Watching some of the names we have spoken about these guys would be realistic targets who could improve the side marginally:

Lowe
Gela-Mosby
Kelly
Hetherington
Latu
Peachey (more valuable in a team that is physically dominant)

To improve the side drastically we would need to go all out for:

Marty
TPJ
Matterson
Tapine
Rapana
Munster
NAS

Most of this second list are free to negotiate in Nov (source zero tackle) and if we are serious we need at least 2 and probably 3 of this calibre.

I know it's a pipe dream at this stage, but the club has to find a way to get it done.

If we got even two of them I would be very happy. One of them even, would be a good start.

Here's hoping.

Interesting reasoning on Peachey there OMT. Personally, just love the guy as a footballer and would happily take him, just see him trapped in a body that doesn't allow him to show his absolute abilities.

Munster and Tapine would be my first picks off your second list if only allowed two.

gee some people on here come up with crap, trying to cover the clubs failure to sign players, the best been players still in the finals, WELL it didnt stop these players been named,

Ferguson to eels
ramien to knights
glasby to knights
sims to dragons
lee to knights
crithen to roooters

not to mention every other player who has changed clubs the name i dont see is the TIGERS signing anyone.

If that's the best list you can come up with of signings the Tigers have missed out on I'm not remotely bothered.

Ferguson has had a good season but he's hardly a game changer.
Ramien looks promising, would have been good to see him at the Tigers. But he's had one season in first grade - everyone on here is always moaning about signing "promise".
Glasby is absolutely bog average.
Sims is a decent bench prop.
Lee is a fringe first grader/backup winger.
Crichton was done a year ago - the Tigers have made a marquee signing more recently.

u dont read the post or u just want to be stupid, its nothing to do with the players on the list its about, they have been announced by there signing club, while people on here, claim we cant name players because there still playing finals , all above are still playing finals.

Well we could have had Mbye to look forward to next year. But everyone was so impatient and wanted him this year. Well guess what, we got him this year, and it left us nothing to look forward to next year.

Give Munster and TPJ what's left in the safe and sign them to 4 year deals
Eisenhuth and Gamble could be offloaded with McQueen
Peachy if he wants to stay in Sydney and can backflip on his deal would also be welcome

Oats receives an honorable mention

Expect some announcements very soon.

A number of ISP & Jersey Flegg teams seasons have or will end. That seems to be where most of our recruits are coming from.

That's probably too close to the truth to be funny Harvey.
Magpies on fox this morning.

Marty - Roosters
TPJ. - Stay with Broncos
Matterson - Possible
Tapine - Possible, but unlikely
Rapana - Stay with Canberra
Munster - Stay with Storm
NAS - Sorry a bit dense, don't know who this is?

Yeah that will cover Munster and TPJ’s salaries.

I think he means what's left in the safe PLUS offloading those three. We're supposed to have money to spend, not that we'd know it.

Well that still presents a problem because

A. You need to find a club who will take them.

And

B. The players themselves need to want to go.

Even if B if can be negotiated, A is next to no chance. You. can’t offload them if there’s no one to take them.

What a sad and sorry thread this has become in the last few days.

Why aren't we being kept informed? Why aren't we making plays for big-name players?

For starters, nobody here knows exactly who we are and arent making a play for.

Secondly, any expectations that we might be signing good players within days of the end of our season are high to unrealistic. We already signed Mbye early and I just don't get how many Mbye-type players people expect to sign every year.

The team is 1 place off the finals. It's very realistic that the exact same roster can continue to improve (since 2017) and make the finals. Sure a quality footballer or two would help, but I get the impression some folks are too absorbed with the last-round hammering, completely ignoring we comprehensively defeated the same side about 6 weeks earlier - i.e. it can be done.

But the comments about "being informed" - do you not remember years gone by where we were linked to every footballer off contract, and then you got disappointed because most of those didn't pan out?

Who cares if Tevita Pangai toured Newcastle and were werent mentioned. That doesn't mean anything. Those same journos had Pangai verbally committing to Broncos just a few weeks back - i.e. journos are regularly wrong and thing change rapidly in footy.

Just such an alarm from some people and the offseason is 3 days old. I'm not saying "be patient", because you obv arent patient, just be realistic about how long the offseason is and what us possible wrt recruitment.

Knights are signing big names but none apart from ponga have done anything since going over there.

Rocks and diamonds from SKD as he's always delivered but I would have liked him here.
