gee some people on here come up with crap, trying to cover the clubs failure to sign players, the best been players still in the finals, WELL it didnt stop these players been named,

Ferguson to eels
ramien to knights
glasby to knights
sims to dragons
lee to knights
crithen to roooters

not to mention every other player who has changed clubs the name i dont see is the TIGERS signing anyone.

If that's the best list you can come up with of signings the Tigers have missed out on I'm not remotely bothered.

Ferguson has had a good season but he's hardly a game changer.
Ramien looks promising, would have been good to see him at the Tigers. But he's had one season in first grade - everyone on here is always moaning about signing "promise".
Glasby is absolutely bog average.
Sims is a decent bench prop.
Lee is a fringe first grader/backup winger.
Crichton was done a year ago - the Tigers have made a marquee signing more recently.

u dont read the post or u just want to be stupid, its nothing to do with the players on the list its about, they have been announced by there signing club, while people on here, claim we cant name players because there still playing finals , all above are still playing finals.

You don't think it's relevant whether or not the players who have been signed are ones we'd want? I think the argument being made is that there will be a lot more player movement once the season is over, so we probably shouldn't be panicking about not having announced more signings just yet. Posting a short list of mediocre players who have moved (and one who signed a year ago - a longer time ago than the Tigers last made a marquee signing) doesn't do anything to disprove that.

Incidentally, if you're going to call people stupid you should probably try to get at least some of your grammar and spelling correct.

Ferguson has something like 25 line breaks for this year. That is more than our entire backline combined for the season. He also is bigger and faster than everyone of our backs. IT is dissapointing we didn't make a play for him. If he was willing to go to Parra, then he would of probably heard offers from us.

As a whole, everyone of those players would have at least improved our squad in some capacity.

Fair enough, I probably understated Ferguson. This is based on the fact that his 2018 season has been streets ahead of what he's delivered in the past couple of years (playing for a contract much?). Personally I'd be disappointed if we'd have signed him on any kind of big money.

There are six players on that list. One I may have underrated. One was signed a year ago (longer ago than the Tigers' last marquee signing). Of the other four, one (Ramien) represents promise, which everyone on here seems to hate, and the other three represent depth, which everyone on here seems to hate even more.

Please tell me, with your hand on your heart, that if the Tigers had signed Tim Glasby and Edrick Lee you would be massively happier about the recruiting situation than you are with those two spots as yet unfilled. And if you do I'll call you a liar.

I’m off here for 3 weeks, when I come back I want to see 3 or 4 top line signings.
No hacks/plodders.

Is the site banned in China?

No the Minister for Finance and War bans me on holiday trips.
Remember what Rumpole of the old Bailey said “she who must be obeyed” LOL

I don't know how true it is, but I've been told a similar type of story. Roosters sign you to a decent cash contract, but then everything else you need is taken care of by "friends" of the club.

So if you need a ride, some food, apartment, a tailor, travel - you just go see the "friends" and they sort it out. Stay with the Roosters long-term and these arrangements last long-term.

So for example Tedesco, he is earning a less at Roosters than Tigers and Bulldogs offered him, but he has nil off-field expenses because everywhere he goes, "friends" look after him.

"How much for the dinner?" "Meal's on the house, go Roosters". Tedesco probably couldn't pay for a beer in the Eastern Suburbs if he tried.

I have heard the same by a current first grade player that this is very common and the roosters are the best at it.

This is the greatest blight on the game of ours where clubs like the Roosters, Broncos, and more recently the sharks can get all the players they want.

What the Roosters do is sign the best 16-18 year olds on money other clubs can’t afford outside the salary cap. Bring these players through each year ie: Mitchell, Manu, Radley.
They then top up marquee signings Keary, Tedesco, Cronk with third parties 200k + each. Their last trick is to have no morals and sign people with atrocities. Ferguson, Tetevano on the cheap.

It’s the Golden State Warriors Warriors of the NRL the rest of the players take a small haircut to play on a winning squad.

They and their families are also looked after off the field which no team can match in the corporate world.

They are a blight on the game and have no juniors alll their best players are from other clubs.

Well said.

about 7/8 years ago i was lucky enough to get on the beers with Brett Kimmorley. what he said about the goings on about his negotations with the roosters (was when he left melbourne for northern eagles) was very eye opening. bascially all the rumours youve heard are true.

Watching some of the names we have spoken about these guys would be realistic targets who could improve the side marginally:

Lowe
Gela-Mosby
Kelly
Hetherington
Latu
Peachey (more valuable in a team that is physically dominant)

To improve the side drastically we would need to go all out for:

Marty
TPJ
Matterson
Tapine
Rapana
Munster
NAS

Most of this second list are free to negotiate in Nov (source zero tackle) and if we are serious we need at least 2 and probably 3 of this calibre.

I know it's a pipe dream at this stage, but the club has to find a way to get it done.

Interesting reasoning on Peachey there OMT. Personally, just love the guy as a footballer and would happily take him, just see him trapped in a body that doesn't allow him to show his absolute abilities.

Munster and Tapine would be my first picks off your second list if only allowed two.

With Tapine and Marty peachy would be priceless. Hitting it up after the huth and ET I don't think he'd be as effective.

Balance of our pack is too heavily skewed towards clever workers. Rowdy is a threat near the line, but no one else comes to mind as an impact player.

Imagine Peachey at penriffff with 5 Merrins instead of Kikau and RCG and I think he could have less opportunities against a retreating or indecisive defense.

Can I say I agree with you totally, that Tapine, Taupau and Peachey signing with us for 2019 would be priceless. Literally - I cannot offer you a price to describe how long the odds would be on such a thing ever happening.

Haha that's true
Luckily dreams are free

No hacks/plodders.

This will be an interesting little experiment. My money is on nothing changing in 3 to 4 weeks.

Hope we are wrong.

Well we might get another Prime Minister while you’re away but Wests Tigers definitely won’t have signed anyone of note.

Off to Perth for us. Plenty of TPA's and paper bags over there. And we would have our very own stadium. And the NRL would give us a heap of cash.

Way to go.

It will be so easy to go to the games as well - just take your annual holidays.

That's the best and most accurate description of the rorters i have seen

I come from newcastle and won't mention the name but one of my friends son's had offers from rorters n parra that the knights couldn't even get near

He was told by his manager that if he accepts the rorters offer he would be signing the biggest contract that had ever been signed by a 16yo in NRL history

He chose to stay at the knights

It is a joke how they have no juniors but loads of money and therefore never spoken about as a target for relocation

Relocate another club and you lose supporters to other codes

Relocate rorters and lose nothing

Shame the NRL don't see it that way or don't care

This is why there should be a draft of non NRL players - similar to NFL - it would stop teams like the rorters paying huge amounts to 16 yr olds

That would be nice but I'd say the rorters would have enough power to stop that from happening

We may have 29 layers by xmas but 25 that are crap and will lead to more disappointment next year we need 5 good players for next year.

Must have given you some joy on this years performance ….. :crazy

There were some good moments you get your hopes up and then we crumble like always no different this year.

I don't get some people's mentality

Many people are talking halves when it wouldn't matter if Lockyer and Thurston were in their primes behind our pack

Think good ,quality forwards , simple

The trouble with your thinking is it’s common sense, the problem here on the forum it’s not common enough.

I just read that post and it is spot on.

My guess for next year Tigers players
Merrin
Brian Kelly
Ryan Matterson
Daniel Tupou

Why are people fixated on this Brian Kelly.

We dont need him and he will make zero impact to our over all performance.
