Didn't need Macdonald anyway. I'm happy with Thompson and Nofoaluma as wingers next year. We need a centre and some backrowers before a winger.

Looks like he is out.
Between Nofo, Thompson were good for Wingers at the moment. Having Depth wing/center would be good but I think our focus should be good forwards.
 
Just read that to replace McDonald saints have signed Pearson from the broncos. He would have walked into any backline position in our team
 
Fuimaono signed with Penrith? He apparently only learned he wasn’t getting re-signed at the bunnies awards night, just days ago. Can someone please tell me how earth certain clubs are more in the know with these things? Is it simply due to the player manager or do some recruitment officers get more inside information on player movements and transfers? I thought their basic duties was more to do with identifying talent.

Just interested in how player recruitment generally works in the NRL and would love someone to share their knowledge of how it all works.
 
Tyrell Fuimaono was a centre/back rower who was just off contract. He is now signed to Penrith, the club our current coach is heavily linked to be coaching next season.

Am i really the only who has a problem with this.

It would seem a perfect recruit for this club as we need to cover both areas. This one signing would have given both positions depth.

At this point in time do we have anyone actively recruiting or do we just have the new Penrith coach twiddling his thumbs.

We don't need any more 2nd rowers on the roster unless and until we release some 2nd rowers. We also have enough centre/2nd row options with Matterson, Chee Kam, McQueen and McIntyre in the top 30\. We have very limited roster spots and we need to be using them on higher quality recruits than Tyrell Fuimaono who wouldn't even necessarily be in our best 17.

He was a Penrith junior so it's no great surprise to see him go back there.

Looking at players released by other clubs we should have a look at a couple of the youngsters.

Corey Waddell (22) from the panthers & Louis Geraghty (20) storm may be worth a look as backrowers.

Herbert & Garrick from the dragons are worth a look at outside backs.

Hopefully we can aim higher and get established NRL players, but if not, these may be roster fillers with potential in positions we are light on

Haven't seen heaps of Garrick , but what I have seen is pretty damn good

Garrick signed with Manly mid season, was chased by Barrett, is still going there despite the drama at the club. Source is an immediate member of family.

Waddell has been signed by Manly and Herbert is going back home to the Warriors.

He was going better when they plonked him on the wing at the back end of last season. I think that's probably his best spot now (I can't see him a first choice fullback at too many clubs).

TPJ, Terepo and Oats fit our needs nicely and I'd happily take Luai as a bench utility with Xfactor as well. Those additions would boost our team immeasurably.
