We should just start doing paper bag deals.
What’s the worse that happens?
We get caught once in a blue moon and get a slap on the wrist.
If the sharks escape without severe punishment then the precedent is set in my mind.
We should do the same and get some big game players to concord.
I don’t like cheating but if playing by the rules means we fall behind, than I’m all for the paper bag contracts.

Bingo. While Parra were sloppy, look at how much of a Wringer they were put through.
The same would happen to us.
Manly were treated lightly, but still held.
Easts could murder people and not be touched.

Ok so I don't get this. Bulldogs options in the halves are pretty tight.
JMK does not seem to be well handled to the hooker role.

Why do I think the Dogs have Johnson signed and not us? Unless Reynolds is going back to the Dogs and we are replacing him with Johnson (which would be a massive coup).

Dragons saying they won't release him, who are they kidding. No one is held to contracts anymore. Was only yesterday the Warriors denied SJ's release. Today they give it to him. Contracts lol.

But a player doesn't have to go if he has a contract..

There's a possibility that this whole Shaun Johnson / Gareth Widdop saga could play out badly for WT. Warriors will be looking for a half for 2019 and beyond. If Brooks hasn't signed with WT he could receive a late offer from them. What half wouldn't enjoy playing behind a pack like they have and I'd imagine the Warriors could top our offer quite handsomely.
I get it that Luke is a loyal young man, a move to NZ is a big move and it's possible that he has already signed an extension with us but it's still a possibility. Although Luke is tied to us for 2019 we know early releases occur more and more these days.
I hope I'm wrong and that Luke is already tied to us for the long term but things are getting a little crazy with player movements at the moment and nothing it seems is beyond the realms of possibility.

A move away from family would be huge. While maybe a slim chance, if the club hasn't locked him up already, he doesn't seem like a brash ego driven bloke that would do something like that. As soon as you move clubs for $$$ in a position like the halves, you're in the spotlight, and consequently, the crosshairs.

But you never know what Issac is whispering into his ear. Thankfully he pushed his manager aside last time and signed with the Tigers.

Everything you'ver said is correct and I'm only speculating on the possibilities. I hope he stays but you just raised another facet that might be a factor. Moses manages Brooks and I believe I read somewhere he manages Kearney too. Maybe Kearney gets into Moses ear about luring Luke across. Equally, he could be interested in the other Moses if Parramatta are shopping him around. Enough now, I'm going to stop speculating and wait for reality.

Brooks is young and single with the rugby league world at his feet. I can't see any reason why he wouldn't entertain the thought of moving to NZ to test his talents behind a big Warriors pack, while earning good coin, if the offer was there.

Hopefully not, I'm just pointing out that there is not a lot keeping him here if was given a big offer and he wanted to test the waters elsewhere. It's not like he is married with kids and has a house and mortgage in Sydney.

And young people are usually happy to do random things like travel and see other parts of the world before they get bogged down with the responsibilities of adult life…well I did anyway :mrgreen:

You are desperate for WT to sign a marquee player so any remote news of one joining us gets you hooked with hopes up…but alas it's bogus. 😢 One of the handful of teams that are already stacked with marquee players will get the chocolates yet again. If I were WT management I would not have any player on our roster managed by Moses. He apparently is also strong against the NRL agent reform push. To me that says enough, even if it means saying goodbye to Brooks. Moses is a grub and we should never forget what he did to us with the Farah standoff and his nephew Mitchell's contract spat. Trashed the club and continues to twist stories along with the connivance of Elias.
