@ said:Johnston might be hard pressed getting a look in first grade if he is leaving Souths and wants to play fullback. Most other clubs have fullbacks that are ahead of him.

i suppose being flexible is a trait u have to have in the NRL :stuck_out_tongue:

He is not among the elite fullbacks in the game. Guys like Slater, Inglis, Teddy, Tommy T, RTS can all go to market and demand they play fullback. Most clubs will move on their existing fullbacks to get these guys on the books.
Johnston is good, but not one of those types of players. Most clubs are already locked down with their first choice fullbacks so unless clubs are willing to move on or play their current fullback out of position he will struggle to find a club that will take him on, at least at in that position anyway.
@ said:Johnson is a terrible fallback. He doesn't position himself properly in defence, he can't pass, can't kick and hogs the ball a lot.
No thank you. He's a winger and should stay there. If he wants to play fullback then go to reserve grade champ.
Rather go for Robert Jennings. Keep mbye at fullback.
@ said:Apart from speed, Johnston does offer much. He’s a good finisher I guess, but most wingers these days are.

Would easily be our best forward if signed.

In saying that I cant see the Sharks letting him go,.,,,,,would be madness on their part.

Unless they need to free up cap???
I am sure the club doctors at the sharks would have a large say in his release or not,He is 29 next year coming off an ACL and wont play for half the season.Would be risky we dont need another potential Ballin situation especially when he would not be cheap
We're one of only a few clubs with money to spend. No doubt we've been used and will continue to be used by managers to bump up asking prices for their clients. We're no chance of luring Graham from the Sharks nor would I want him with his history of injury and age.
i was talking to my mates about this yesterday…
i was the only one that was against the idea of getting graham...........

I agree. He has a distinct lack of ability for breaking tackles, and not much on the kick-return IMO, which I feel is a major deficit in his game.
I don't rate him anything above our current wing options.
