OK with Brooks sorted and all these so called rumours etc. does anyone have any real info of player/s joining us and timeframes??
I feel with this sorted we might be looking to finalise the roster now or hope so anyway..

Shut the rumour mill down ….there is no more recruitment for the WT on the short term horizon....we will wait to see IF the right 30th player comes on the market.....there is even a real chance we start the season with the 29 we have now got.....so enjoy the rest of the off season and don’t waste too much energy speculating....

Thanks for sharing but…how have we spent the majority of our cap? Brooks and Reynolds? Are Packer and McQueen on more than you’d think? Or do we just have very few TPAs among the group? Because Newcastle seem to have fitted a helluva lot more into the same amount of positions.

Why fill position 30 with a bog average player, just have to wait until the right place comes along.

I think this has been a very productive pre season.

- Appointed Madge
- Added Matterson, Momo and Musgrove
- Re-signed Brooks

How about we all just sit on that and enjoy it for a while, instead of going on about the last 2 spots. The club is more than capable of knowing what needs to be done. Relax and be thankful the club has achieved this much so far.

Thankful we didnt sign Bennett. The events of the last week all seem a bit bitter and twisted.
Doesnt present like a coach who ended up where he wanted to be.

I think he wanted out. He just wanted to cash out on the way and punish the Donkeys.

Not sure whether his or Ivan's situation was worse TBH. I think Ivan's exit was probably more expertly handled.

Agree

I wouldn't have thought we would be approaching Christmas with such positive vibes.

Lets enjoy at least until Jan 1st

Happy enough on the back of Brooks extending, but was thinking that Musgrove filled one of those two spots, leaving a single vacancy?

yeah, we managed to work our way around the drama involving us, and in turn sign a few players, as well give a player a well awaited extension

any other signings or extensions we make before January 1st would just be a "gift" for us

He did, we have one spot left. Just did up a 2019 retention & recruitment thread which is stickied.

With one spot left, and no prospect of anyone being moved on, good chance it might not be filled to well into 2019\. If we’re talking about recruitment, let’s talk 2020\. 2019 seems done and dusted now.

Agree, productive off-season and happy with the acquisitions of those you've mentioned. With one spot left I think it's best to leave it open going into the season instead of filling it for the sake of filling it.
Attention will turn to 2020 recruitment.

Might be a bit early to talk about 2020 recruitment, as we don't know how the off-contract players are going to play under Maguire or any player for that matter. Would like to see Braden Robson given an NRL contract for 2020.

Definitely.

Jason Taumalolo

but he's either a flog, a dope, over rated, a tool, grub etc so we don't need him..

One of the best off seasons i can remember.

I’d be happy if liddle had a full season and showed his potential.
I honestly rate him from the glimpses he’s shown, on the subject is there any legs to the Damien Cook to Tigers rumour.
I think he’d be asking way too much and a player like Cameron McInnes might be worth a look at, pretty sure he played under Madge aswell.
