I wouldn't mind all 3. Waqa would solve our centre problem, DWZ out on the wing and either Hetherington or RCG for our front row. Offload Packer, ET, McQueen, and (maybe) Reynolds retire Marshall and Farah and there's your cap space.

It would be amazing to offload what we need to, but yes, this would be fantastic considering where we are now.

@TigerTiger It would take a miracle to offload the players, and an even bigger miracle to entice those Panthers players. But, there's always hope. Waqa Blake would be great regardless. We're crying out for a centre

Hetherington is average at best and RCG is playing worse than Packerlino.
It would be a same for same swap and we'd be in the same position.
Blake and DWZ I'd have though, they're better than our current outside backs, they're also out of form but that may change with a change of club.

Blake to Parra and DWZ to Bulldogs.

Moses re-signs with eels. $2.5m for 3 years

It's funny to see their coach saying they need to decide if they are a full-time or part-time club. Moses is very talented, but the epitome of a fella who can't play consistently.

Drinkwater was going to be released to the Cowboys until Bellamy intervened because Melbourne weren't getting anything out of the deal (reportedly). We should see if Bellamy is interested in taking any of the players we've put on notice as consideration for releasing Drinkwater...

If our cap is screwed blood some youngsters next season. Not ideal but what choice do we have. We have tried to buy a roster and failed so i guess its time to go back to promising juniors, i rekon Sheens would be good in Egans role.

@TigersBusDriver I agree totally club can’t afford to sign my 8year old grandson let alone a quality nrl player without offloading some of our rubbish and no one that crazy to take any of them

Very slim pickings for players coming off contract this year - outside of the list below I wouldn’t panic buy...Patience is a virtue people just look at the Newcastle knights.

C.Oats
J.Rapana
D.Walker
K.Turner
L.Perrett

The top teams in the NRL seem to copy the same formula as the NBA i.e 3or 4 stars and the rest worker bees. Look at the number or really good players the Roosters have shed just to keep their superstars.

Look how many rep players they still have

Might as well be strategic. Somewhere here someone suggested we 'permanently' demote to reserves the unwanted and promote as much as possible to worthwhile from reserves for rest of year to give them experience. Only where we still have a glaring deficiency recruit someone- and even they have to be not bargain basement, but someone stuck and wanting an opportunity, preferable young and keen.

But- until squad settled (in 2100???? kidding) no more extended contracts- at best 3 year contracts involving the 3rd year as an option. Probably Matterson is the only exception to that thinking, certainly Liddle has not earned it. Brooks is with us till end of 2021 so nothing required there.

We just need to knuckle down and play hard footy. This team is capable of finals. It’s not that talented but we have to win the fight and play as hard as the Raiders did. We need to be respectable before we attract talent. Madge needs time we are as impatient as our coach.
Cleary did a job on us with a blank cheque book.

No patience we could have snared Pearce, Klemmer, DWZ if we had coin but we spent it on Packer, Reynolds, Matulino, ET etc.

I think we all need to get used to the fact we will be riding out all our rubbish contracted players, with little chance of signing any quality anytime soon. No one in their right mind is going to take any of our players plain and simple. What teams other than ESL would want Packer, Mats, ET, Reynolds or Mbye (Bellamy couldn't do much with them). Reality is 2 or 3 years time our rubbish will be off contract, our COE will be finished and hopefully Madge can attract what we need. Sit patient again WTs fans.

So you’re saying that we need to bide our time for another 3 years and then hopefully whoever is coach then will buy astutely? I’m really running out of reasons to keep watching.

@avocadoontoast Yep. That's where I think we are at tbh. I just don't see Madge performing too many miracles with the squad we have. Hopefully we can take leaf out of the knights book and buy with some level of intelligence when the time comes.

I’m not watching this garbage for another 3 years.
