Have I missed something are we bringing up 2 development players ??

Yes, Happy Alex Seyfarth and Tommy Talau. And Tyson Gamble back to Redcliffe

Appears to be part of salary cap management with the Tigers still trying to move 1 or 2 players on knowing the will have to chip in. The Tigers are still being active in the market with talks with Sua, Capewell Welch & ESE,all who are under contract still. Was told Ese was close but Newcastle wanted Liddle or Mikaele however talks still continuing. From what I have been told by a player who has had talks with the Tigers is the Tigers are in a lot better shape than it appears.

I do have to wonder what part of "we don't have any cap space" people don't understand. We're desperately trying to shift a bunch of terrible contracts handed out by the previous regime when they spunked in their pants the last time we found a few coins down the back of the sofa.

In case it had escaped anyone's attention, however, Reynolds, Packer, Matulino and McQueen are all still on the Tigers' salary cap. We are therefore not in the running to sign anyone. Stop having hissy fits when we don't spend our imaginary money on players when they sign elsewhere.

@Harvey glad we missed Blake. Need props and a very solid engine room under Madge to open up our premiership window. That’s his steez

Talau seems a hefty young fella according to his stats

189 cm and 96 kgs

What are his strengths ??

I consider him very similar to a young John Sutton. A skillful player with good size. Will start out in the backs, has a good short passing and kicking game, but will ultimately end up in the back row.

Thanks BB , does he have any speed or he relies on his strength / guile

Madge wanted DWZ and couldn’t afford him. I don’t think there is a hidden war chest just replacing players we are letting go next year.

@avocadoontoast but we love plodders drop aloiai and gain RCG that’s a win and promote packer back to the starting side for Twal yay

@krayola Waqa Blake is a gifted footballer, but he is bone idle, the majority of his games you wouldn't even know he was on the field.
And if Eels fans think that Brad Arthur with his spitting and screaming is going to get Blake to be more involved well, Good Luck.

We haven't really ever seen him in open space. He's no JAC, Ponga, Roberts. But he's no slower than Nof, Marsters or Jennings either.

In one CC game where Talau was playing right wing Gamble put in a chip kick from about 40m out. Talau, while not having to turn and chase (but still giving up about 5-10m) easily won the race to the ball to dive over in the corner. Think it was against Norths. Can't remember who his opponent was but we got smashed in that game. He surprised me that he got there ahead of his opposing winger.

He's very skillful, likes a flick pass offload, has a good cutout ball. Not a natural hole runner/support player though but this could be learnt. You wouldn't want him as a halfback but like a Graham, Matto and Sutton is more than capable of chiming in here and there. I'm not sure what his best position is for now but he's always been super highly rated. Had a number of niggling injuries this year though.

God all I want is some speed on the wing and a little bit more mongrel in the middle....not too much to ask is it??

I'd rather a speedy fullback.. Thommo does a good job on the wing.
