Kurt Capwell played pretty well last night and would be a decent buy. He covers back row and centre well which we lack apart from MCK.
Welch is the big one you would target but only if we can off load some dead wood which we are struggling to.

Other players I would target are:
Scott Sorensen - decent tough
Ron Mulitalo - FB for QLD u/20’s and with the sharks
Jai Field or Billy Walters in the halves for depth
Dan Alvaro or Peni Terepo for Prop Depth
Hymel Hunt

Not everyone’s taste but those players are versatile in multiple positions and improve the squad without breaking the bank.

Ron Mulitalo

Capewell is a good player, a player who is faster than both of our wingers and good with the ball. Ron Mulitalo is one of the stars of a well performed Sharks' U20 team Billy Smith from the Norths CC looked like a very good player even though he is coming back from a knee injury.

@The_Patriot so many people laughed it up when others suggested that on here. We legitimately missed out on a player’s brother who couldn’t crack 1sts in the dragons luke warm backline - Steven Marsters - now people think Burgess would even wanna come here

Madge has kept our quality and looks to have targeted great young recruits and talent spotters but we never seem to compete in an open market. Thoughts, Patriot?

It really doesn't matter if we are competitive in the open market. All that matters is that we identify talent and sign quality people.

Our depth is at is worst but I trust Maguire to fix the mess Taylor and Cleary left the club in.

It's start with recruiting kids and having options coming through the grades. The rest will fall in to place after that.

well said ..... I don't think that our squad is far off the pace .... but our depth need a definite upgrade and some fresh young talent.

I agree Madge is off the Bellamy tree how many high priced players has he signed as free agents.
Smith, Cronk, Slater, Inglis, Folau, Bromwich, Solomona, Jeremy Smith, JAC, Koribete, Chambers, Scott, Kaufusi, NAS, Widdop. Can go on but all developed or brought in on smallish contracts.

Jangala Bennett at Como Jannali. Unlikely to be retained by Sharks. He is slight but very quick. Brought down from Qld. Sharks apparently like a certain type of player. In the emerging QLD Squad.
