Looks like we are after Papenhuyzen.

doubt he would leave a good situation/culture in Melbourne to come to a tigers side that is constantly 'rebuilding' . As good as it may seem to be coached by Maguire as a up and coming junior i see the proposition of playing under Bellamy and their system much more rewarding. Even under maguire the whole culture at Wests will take a few more years to evolve imo.

@trentrunciman
It would depend a lot on what the Storm have in mind and who they have to let go to cover additions to their roster their fairly active in the market and they also have a couple of capable replacements if he goes if hes currently on $200K an additional $400K would be hard to beat and the chance to return home may be hard to pass up a good fullback would be good but a classy centre would be better.

@trentrunciman I doubt we'd get him back also. But I hope the story is true, because yes he is the exact right sort of player we do want. We may not get him, but if we get someone like him, that'll be great.

If you're thinking is $600k for him too much, just remember, we're paying Packer and Reynolds $800k+ each

Looking at the roster we have some very good players just not enough of them.

Matterson, Aloai, Twal, Mikalele, Brooks, Mikalele, Garner, Momirovski, Thompson, Nofa.

That’s where it’s telling. We need 7 quality players to really compete. Some youngsters may come up to the mark Clarke, Talau, Bradley, Seyfarth. It’s a long road to a consistent finals team and has to be done with patience and food long term planning.
Mikaele has potential, but honestly he played 33 minutes yesterday 7 runs for 66 metres and 12 tackles. That is hardly the cornerstone a a fearsome pack.

Well! let’s hope Melbourne win the GF it might work in our favour if his won one with them.

@Harvey Mikaele and Clark are good prospects imo, very good, but they shouldnt be the starting props, we are paying Packer and Mats for that. We need to get rid of those two (eventually) then get some real starting props.

Hold tight guys. Me thinks there may be another year of 9th until we can get salary cap relief.

Madge won't panic buy like our previous coaches did.

If we can't get rid of them, the coach needs to get them performing so that they are actually contributing something for the amount they are sucking out of our cap.

Serious question, is Papenhuyzen as quick as people think? I don’t see it, I think Thompson is just as quick, both very small fullbacks who seem to be running in quick sand the longer they run. I might be blind but I just don’t think he is as fast as people say he is.

Watch against the Roosters when he sped past Tedesco who looked like he was running up and down on the spot.
