Reading the last 100 pages it seems Packer is staying and McQueen are staying due lack of interest. The only gaps we are going to have is Matterson..arguably our best player and a rough chance of Reynolds and Mats ( if he gets a medical discharge)

So it is highly unlikely our roster is going to be much different in 2020. I guess we all knew that but it is some what depressing

At this stage we'll have the same team as last year but missing Matterson and no specialist hooker.

It sounds terrible doesn't it. We need to improve on last year but we look to be going backwards. Let's hope Madge can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

What happened to the ‘benefit’ we’re supposed to be getting out of releasing Matterson? Everyone seemed so sure we wouldn’t let him go without getting something in return.

Has he been released already? If not it may be a bit premature for this post don’t you think?

Can you look at the posts that I have quoted above - that’s what I am responding to with my question.

Understand that mate but I still think until Matterson is or isn’t released we can’t determine whether there’s been any benefit. You commented that everyone seemed sure we wouldn’t let him go without getting something in return, we’ll at this stage we haven’t so again I think the comment is a touch premature.

Again I am simply asking the question to the people whose posts I quoted - if you read their posts, they all seem to think we are losing Matterson and not gaining anyone and I’m asking the question... but what happened to the benefit we’re supposed to be getting? It’s a question, not really a comment. Perhaps the posts I am quoting are a bit premature, moreso than mine?

Fair enough mate, must admit after the way we handled Cleary and Penrith I’m hopeful that we will get a positive outcome but it’s looking like we won’t know for a little while yet.

He pulled one out this year and I think it had myxomatosis.

Interesting read. Suggesting That Player trades likely this offseason. Mentions RM situation etc
https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/09/23/player-trades-likely-as-multiple-stars-face-uncertain-future//

The RLPA are so selfish. All they do is take from the game. Everything they do is only for the benefit of the players. They don't care if they have to bring rugby league to its knees to get things down.

That's how unions work mate. They just take, take , take and end up ruining it for everyone.

Unions are also why the majority of the population have the best working conditions in all of human history...

Yesterday we gained significant concessions for our members. These were achieved without the nastiness or militant behaviour that many anti union types attribute to us. In short, these concessions will allow the continued participation of working mothers in the workforce,

A tribute to working mothers, I know Helen Reddy's song gets significant airplay but this song is powerful and resonates when I think of all the working mothers out there,

Singo on the Matty Johns Podcast was a fascinating insight into the personalities, dealings and machinations that go on behind the scenes in rugby league and club land. That bit where they discussed Politis/Roosters and the brown paper bags backs-up the common held belief the Roosters are cheating the cap and have been doing it for decades!!

They’d only have gotten better over the years. Amazing that our governing body pretend all is ok. Just a reminder if their apathetic attitude was the Sharks compliance in 2016 despite non compliance in 2015 and 2017. Terrible terrible governance

Its a bit embarrassing that they caught us.

Not really - they are always on the hunt for a small fish to catch so they can tell everyone what a wonderful job they are doing. That and the fact we told them we were cheating may have helped them.

Going by what Singo said, it's in the "gifts" . Not sure how you can give someone an ambassadors role as a gift.

All it did was confirm what i and many others have said for years, the cap is a joke and IS being rorted continuously, yet there are still some who pretend it's all ok because there is no "proof"

You're asking the peanut gallery and taking the answer as given. 99% of us haven't got a clue and are just throwing darts in a darkened room. You also seem resigned to the fact that we're going to be screwed over, hence the half glass empty question.

It’s a forum, that’s what we do. I’m sure Supercoach, Avocado & Earl appreciate being called peanuts ?
I’m not resigned to anything, I just asked a friggin question.

So we’re signing a Rabbits player?

I will take Cam Murray

The quote was “pull a rabbit out of your hat.” Who wears hats? Cooks wear hats. So it obvious - we are signing Damien Cook!!???

Watch dean Ritchie jump all over this!

I like that... 😀 Madge is the one that gave Cook the big break and wouldn't be surprised if we sign him - (do journalist read forums?) lol

@Furious1 That interview was informative just by his matter of fact brevity. A gift is a gift nothing to see here. It's happening, and the others should do it better.

As long as you don't claim it as a tax deduction or in our case a cap deduction and your sweet...

Going to hit 2k pages soon

Do you really prefer pages? Having a limited amount of information and having to click from one page to the next?

Having infinite scrolling makes things much easier. Just keep scrolling up and down the thread to see the new comments. Each time you return to the thread you can start the page at your last unread post.

Surely this is a much easier way of managing the forum - particularly for a thread like this with a ridiculous amount of posts. Let the system do the work of keeping track of what you have and haven't read yet!
