If 330k is league average (30 man roster , 9.9 mil cap ) , wouldn’t that be a reasonable starting point . Eg. Eisenhuth . I would say he’s an average to below average player . So to me his value would be 250-330k .
This gets more complicated however when you consider position value . Like , what portion of your salary cap do you allocate to each position .
So if average is 4% , would you allocate 5 % to Johnston .
I kind of think you would .
A players value can only be measured by how much a club is prepared to pay to get him signed up. For that reason fans are the worst at estimating what a player is worth and are usually way off the mark because most of us want more for cap money than what is realistically available. Aside from Roosters supporters of course who have room for them all.
