In defence to Liddle, Brooks has overran him often when he gets the ball from dummy half.

Jake simpkins? That young hooker we hot will be the future. The kid can play.

Has any one been down to training to see how Simpkin is going? I have heard its him and Billy Walters sharing dummy half at training.

Benji isn’t back until Jan and Liddle won’t be back for ages. Simpkin can’t play NRL until after June anyway so wouldn’t look to much into things just yet.

He’s not back in the early roundS. He might be back towards the end of the year.

I heard (not sure where) that he was returning to training in the next few weeks and would be ready early in the season

The cows don't have the money and Fox is reporting that the bunnies decision on Burgess prob wont happen until next year, which wont suit LM, I don' think.

@Russell We are not buying groceries, we are purchasing the near future of our club, if it works out and he comes then our world changes if he can deliver the game we all know he's got. I would have thought that's what we all want.

Not sure what you are on about, but this is a $1m/year contract and he is still twiddling his thumbs going to see the Titans, who have said, they don't have the cash and wont guarantee what position they have for him. We have.

If he's coming (I hope he does) he has some work to do (he is not a journeyman player) and fishing with the family is not one of them, but again, I see nothing wrong in trying to determine his interest by putting a deadline on a decision.


So lets play this out... he is 22 and has a young family. He has won everything already - comps back to back, state of origin back to back and played for his country.

He has nothing to prove.

This is the biggest deal he will sign, he has the national coach showing interest and a lifestyle option up north that he can associate with.

LM has also basically played and trained non stop for close to 2yrs and finally decides to take a holiday with his family.

Our club doesn’t have alot of power here - cool offer overs but for what? Move away from winning everything to high risk work harder to maybe win half as much over the next 2yrs??

He owes us nothing at all, doesn’t even owe us any gratitude or respect. But he is interested at the very least for talks to have happened - that is a hell of alot more than what most players who have achieved half of what he has, has done. We aren’t leaking anymore as a club and people are getting frustrated.

I get people are frustrated because they get excited about the prospect and want this to happen & nothing is coming from formal channels mixed with 1000 people guessing - but this is a massive decision for LM and his family which normally would take months & we are just 2 weeks in...

Look, all that's fine, but a $1m/year for 4 years offer deserves an answer, surely. No dramas if he says no.

I didn't mean that, I would personally sign Munster over Mitchell, but either would be great.

If JAC can tackle (I'm not sure about that) then sign him at $800k/yr and transition him to FB and then offer LM centre money, like every one else is doing:grinning:

I think we could afford both Latrell and Josh AddoCarr. If the media story about the contract offer to Latrell was right, it was only $800k for Latrell in 2020, and even with some upgrades we have done, we should have about $700k left for the other 3. It would be tight, we'd have to backend Josh a little, maybe $450k, $550k, $650k, $650k , but it would be doable.

I know we need forwards, maybe one or two of these younger kids could be promoted, and we buy a big forward next year.
