Everyone at Salford was aware of the perception of Jackson Hastings' personality when they signed him. Hastings was well aware of this himself and spoke openly about it.

Nobody at the club, including fans, had a bad word to say about him though, after they signed him. I think what happened at Manly really changed him and he pulled his head right in. He knows his career was nearly over before it started.

That's all well and good but he has no pace (which was always an issue with his playing ability). We don't require another slow back or hooker. There are far more talented players in our lower grades. Why fritter our money away on marginal signings?

No way is he marginal. He would be a star. A Benji c2005 player. He would be the attacking spark we've lacked for years.

He is not fit to lace up Benji's boots.

I think you are looking at Hastings through rose coloured glasses.

In Super League, there are haves, and there are have nots. Salford is and always has been a have not. Across the park, their players are inferior, by a country mile, to teams like Wigan, Warrington, St Helens etc. Their grand final appearance with the squad they had last year was a miracle, and it was thanks to Hastings.

Physically he is a great NRL prospect

What I got out of the saga at Manly which led to the guy being chased out of the country was .. he is a bit different in personality than most . Well what a drama NOT . If the supporters of our club put up with the tantrums and dummy spits that Farah unleashed for years , I welcome Hastings different and all ! he is a quality player that can play the game ..

Are you serious? Credible source? I would be OVER THE MOON if we signed Jackson Hastings. He was a champion player last season. He almost single handedly took lowly cellar-dwelling Salford to the grand final.

I'm more excited by this than any other player yet mentioned, including Latrell, no joke!!

If we signed Hastings for 2020 where would he fit in? I didn’t watch a lot of super league last year but I always remember him playing in the halves when in the NRL.

Swap with Reynolds, McQueen or like .... comes to mind.

Let's not escape from the reality that he was disposed of at the club where his father is a club stalwart. His junior club (Illawarra) were not that bothered to lose Hastings or Bird, Why?

But most likely not only tough enough to work with Madge but would probably flourish and be a real asset to the club

There's not much quality out there at the moment other then Jac, we should be seeing if Korobietre is happy in union also check what Rapana plans on doing when he returns I think with a signing or 2 we can turn it around.
