It’s a win win for everyone I would think:

Knowing Melbourne have lost Chambers, Scott, Vunivalu (2021) and JAC pending they would definitely want a representative back

Souths desperately need forwards otherwise there’s no chance they win the premiership

We need X factor and try scoring abilities

Would be a decent deal as long as their contracts run out the same time. They are a prop short, we sre several backs short.

Not a fan of Gagai, but we need a center more than we need Packer.

I’d do this in a heart beat. We have props Mikalele, Twal, Musgrove, Clarke, Aloai. Also the young Eels prop next year. Our backs are weak at best. Watch out for Souths swooping on Addo Carr he lives around the corner.

Well the stats are impressive and hard to argue against. But from what I watch on a weekly basis we need impact and intimidation in our forward pack. We need a leader. I think a fit Packer can do this. I watch eisenhuth and I see plodder.

100% agree. That Packer is useless. But it looks like he is fitter. It sounds like he’s motivated. I think he can be an enforcer. We don’t have an experienced enforcer and we need one.

You would assume this week something has to happen as we need to get these players in ASAP to get fit and learn our system.

I have moved on from LM, so as there is not much out there we should either chase hard for JAC before Souths announce they are not interested in him as well and then sign him somehow the next week in there unlimited Salary cap. . I could not take losing JAC to souths as well as LM...

anther option is we look to bring AJ over as we need backs desperately.

Even if just for the fact that all our long contracted overpaid players are a year closer to being off the books. A couple of months until kickoff, money in the kitty and at least two spots to fill, so still enjoying the Ferris Wheel ride.
