I don't see how Souths is a contender or the more attractive offer unless your dad played thier or your manager is being courted by them.
Wayne IMO is going to do it tough with the forward pack he has and if they get any injuries hmm
I think tigers are finally moving forward the media just acts like we aren't

Media prefer a Rabbits success story, general population would prefer a Tigers one over Souths....

Is this true though? I think we used to be fairly popular with the general population but I don’t think that’s the case anymore. Certainly not from people I know that support other clubs.

How many times have you heard people hate clubs, and how many times have people said they hate the tigers? people see us as harmless and it's cute when we win, but the arrogance Souths have is very visible for everyone to see and people hate it....

I’m not saying we’re hated but I don’t think we’re popular either. We’re a bit of a laughing stock which is deserved to a degree but also very annoying.

We get our fair share of free to air. Are you sayingpeople tune in to see us get flogged? We’re the Mundine type footy team?

Parramatta Eels young forward Stefano Utoikamanu has been upgraded from his development contract and will join the top 30 squad until the end of the 2020 season.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O'Neill said, "Stefano is an exciting young prospect who has been training really well during the pre-season and has earnt this opportunity."

"He is held in such high regard from his peers and the broader Eels Club. We are all looking forward to his contribution throughout this season as we strive to do better than what we achieved last year."

A Parramatta Eels junior, Stefano is an Australian Schoolboys representative and played in the NSW Under 18s Origin game last year in a man-of-the-match performance.

I may just be conditioned to disappointment but I have really bad feeling about this.

Me too

From what I heard and posted a week back...I'm very concerned

I Think we have a job to do this year and madge has a plan with all the crap Cleary left us with over payments of very ordinary footballers but we have a good lot of young guys coming through and we have to be patient and give madge a chance as ge is a good coach that we need have faith we will get there.

I hear this ‘plan’ argument a lot and I agree - Madge has a plan and I believe he knows what he’s doing. But don’t lose sight of the fact that both Madge and Pascoe Have stated that missing the top 8 is failure and thus part of the plan now is making the top 8. Not 2021, but now!

So true...and we missed out on a "franchise" player in Mitchell which would have made me more confident, but now with BJ on board, I feel it plugs a gap we were lacking in last season.

In my opinion, we'll struggle again to make the 8. I don't think we have the right forward balance to get us on a roll, but if Madge can get them playing to their full potential, we'll get there.

We just can't seem to string more than 2 wins together. If we can fix our consistency, we'll be in with a chance.

With the Roosters weakened (Mitchell & apparently Tedesco), Bellamy's last year and no club being hugely active in the transfer market, we've got as good a chance as any to scrape in.

Im very optomistic and think we have a 20% better side then last year.A big and mobile forward pack along with good halves has always been the cornerstone of great sides. We have both.Madge is a top coach and many in the side will benefit from last year, Our backline is far better and improving with more signings and mid yr we get Cini,Simpkins and other truly talented kids. GO TIGERS

No I don’t think we’re like Mundine, I don’t see us as polarising. I see us more as a team that’s interesting to watch. Lots of bad decisions over a long period of time, always running 9th, Lots of drama. Tuning in to watch us is like watching COPS. Bit of a train wreck, always something happening, usually ends badly but very entertaining and hard to look away.

There real grubs that lot a very spiteful organisation.. they got a good player and gave nothing?anyway he is contracted so be it .. there time will come karma will out!

Man i hope that contract from 2021 is watertight. Parra will be looking at every avenue possible to stop him coming to us.

Everyone can ark up about Eels and Stefano, but nobody seemed to have a problem with it when Tigers talked Tedesco into backflipping on Raiders.

I'm not saying I don't hate Eels, coz I do, but we need the perspective that we'd be no different. It's obviously hard to reconcile given we released a player to them with no respect from the club in return.

Teddy could though. That’s when the 2 week cooling off period existed. And from memory he changed his mind at the 11th hour. I’m pretty sure Stefano can’t .

Thanks so much O'Neill.......

This idea of being able to sign a player a year in advance is crazy. I personally think this should only be allowed where a club has given permission for a player to look elsewhere prior to his contract finishing. I believe where a player is coming off contract there should be a signing window say from Oct to end of Nov. Outside of the window the only signings should be where a club and a player have agreed to part ways. Of course clubs are still going to sound players out before the signing period but without being able to sign anyone it avoids the farce that we have with this kid and Arrow.

Moses has a contract, matterson had a contract and Stefano has a contract with us for $800k over three years. Stef has a breakout year, Parra has a successful season, Parra offer him $1M. We get a phone call

We know what Parramattas intentions are, so we just have to make them know what ours are. Try as they might, we have the contract and we have to make it clear that he will be in WTs colours next year no matter what happens in 2020.

No matter what happens? What if you have a 19yo kid who doesn’t want to be here?

Is the sky falling again....

I reckon it's great....young kid may get some FG experience now..thanks Pawa..

There might be many what if's between now and then he might get injured and or may not handle FG - it is about enforcing the legal contract and dealing with all the what if's when and if they happen.

The kid clearly doesn't want to be at the eels, but because he has a contract he is being forced to see it out and he's standing by it....shows character in the kid. He could've thrown his toys out of the cot and forced a move but maybe he sees it as not the best way to go??

I would say he has realised he isn't getting a release and has decided to take the upgraded contract and experience that comes with it

He has a contract with us that he signed after knocking parra back on 3 occasions

From all reports wanted to come here this year but parra wouldn't release him

We can't change that and neither can he

Danny Williams did what most of us would like to do!

I didn't like it at the time obviously being a tiger's supporter

But hey he was sent off and we won the game

All I can say now is

Thanks Danny for the laugh that was probably around 15 years in the making

so does that mean that over the course of time the Tigers' greatest villain...has become a cult hero?

I believe so

Can someone please post a clip of it

Maybe even start a new thread and throw it in with the Fatah and Watts footage and maybe some old blocker and siro footage

I would but no idea how to download

Sky isn’t falling but it is what it is as a great mind once said repeatedly.

Parra will definitely try it on. You know that. This year in the NRL will test his football ability and Parra will test his integrity. Let’s see how he comes through.

If he plays for us in 2021, we will know we got a good one
