(Even happy we missed Lomax)
He will get better as he gets fitter and if he was under Madge he would of been rusty at this stage as well but when you think about it the Roosters don't let great players go without a fight if they are wanted.. Something fishy i think.
Me too. We’ve dodged some bullets the last 12 months. Mitchell, Lomax And DWZ.
TIM MANNAH says g’day
Mannah was never going to be getting much money from us for a 1 year contract (2019) so he would be in a different category as far as i am concerned
Dodged bullets? Pretty sure he fits...
Edit: the concern was players who didn’t sign on within the last 12 months. Mannah would’ve been a massive failure under the guise of that. Not withstanding what you’ve mentioned about the figures, Matty Ballin was a bargain then?
Ballin was a huge mistake to massage a coaches ego and it cost us about 100k for his first year and 300+ for his second year.Mannah was to be a signing for a maximum 4 months at just above base rate probably around 70k its like comparing oranges and lemons
No. It’s not. Mannah was to receive over 150K and was actually intended to be extended.
If you’ll check previous posts I have a fairly reliable source. Not about that though it’s comparing the potential output to the hype and media beat-up (which always paints us in a negative light) so to add to the facts that we have indeed dodged bullets and missed train wrecks; they’re more like apples and apples. Ballin was a huge mistake but in virtually the same situation...
Not to start anything but you’re out of legs
My information about Ballin comes from a very reliable Manly source. As far as Mannah is concerned i am going off what was stated on here when it was being talked about. If Mannah was going to be extended he would have been a poor signing none the less Mannah cost us stuff all and Ballin cost us big dollars.
My legs are fine for an old bloke
Manly/Des know zero... lol they’re the ones who consistently have been done for infringements both within club departments and to Sal Cap.
Seems pretty reliable
Well, as I just said to you, Mannah was one that we dodged and that is pretty concrete. Don’t really get the point you’re trying to make?
I dont know Des(i assume you mean Hasler) but my info was reliable. The point is Mannah cost us nothing because we didnt get him unfortunately i cant say the same for Ballin. You are the one who bought Ballin into the discussion not me
You are the one who’s saying that he doesn’t fit the category of dodged bullets... the likelihood he turned out similar in output/hypejob to ballin (as I also first stated...) and my sentiment was that, Dessy, being almost a dictator when it comes to the cap wouldn’t have informed squat to any other departments that MAY have leaked from Manly. So your source is BBQ’d???
It was all speculation up until he actually signed (at a very low wage, which you seem to disagree with?)
And in the same way that Mannah was NOT due to be on minimum wage (which you’ve speculated isn’t true, yet the common thread is my information is co-corroborated by club) - he also was looking at potentially a huge retirement fund sitting on sidelines here.
As I’ve said - wasn’t trying to start you
Guess I better now offer an apology.
You’re definitely not speaking with regard to the original question, and that essentially makes what you’re saying totally redundant. The only successful rebuttal was that his signing didn’t eventuate, mainly thanks to our negotiators - but to say we didn’t ‘dodge’ a bullet when comparing his statistical output and likelihood of injury/retirement to our current STARTING pack...
???
