Elliot and CHN would be starters in our side,Sue as a backup like someone said is better value then Clark, and Meaney is a speedy fullback being played on the wing

I think Elliot is a ball hog, Sue is nowhere near as good as Clark and that is while he is conscious, Meany I like but too small, might as well have kept Thommo.

CHN seems ok but I am yet to be convinced.

A lot of people saying Meaney is too small, he is taller and heavier than Papenhyzen, I don't get it

Very few players can make it at that size. How many other fullbacks or wingers are Pap’s size and are top shelf players.

Brett Hodges
Matt Bowen
Preston Cambell
Ben Barba
Kalyn Ponga
Billy Slater

I saw on 360 tonight that Grant confirmed he will be going back to storm so maybe smith has said he is retiring

There was an article today where he mentioned he was a man of his word, but also suggested anything can happen and it has been taken out of context a little I feel.

He intends to go back for sure, but what happens between now and then no one knows.

Someone in here said Manly had resigned Cade Cust but I was told today he is close to a deal with us. Also keen interest in Brad Takairangi.

The Mole:
MANLY RE-SIGN PROMISING YOUNG PLAYMAKER
Cade Cust is one of the NRL's up-and-coming playmakers - a youngster the great Andrew Johns recently called a 'genuine first-grader'.
The Manly youngster has been in hot demand for months but isn't going anywhere - he has agreed to terms to a new deal with the Sea Eagles and only needs to put pen to paper.

Des Hasler has plenty of halfback options alongside Daly Cherry-Evans but as a former Test half himself, knows a good one when he sees one and isn't about to let Cust go.
The Sea Eagles are in a hole, with injuries and suspensions seeing them slump to their third straight loss against the Dragons last weekend - but Cust's show of faith in the face of good offers from rival clubs is a major boost.

The mole reported he was staying at manly. I’m not a big fan of Takairangi but we do need back rowers and he would be a lot better off the bench than Lawrence or MCK. Still hoping we get CHN

I really like Takairangi as a player but he’s getting on a bit now.

They are both bigger than Brett Hodgson and i seem to remember him being fair to average......
Its not the size of the dog in the fight! Wingers def need some height but fullbacks comparatively rarely contest highballs so its less of an issue.

Was a different game back then. We are in the era of giant players even in the back line

With exception of Ponga who is 92kg, the rest are not current players which proves my point.

We have giant already, unfortunately nearly all are snails. We need genuine pace.

Well we were supposedly chasing him at the time. Knowing what Ivan’s contracts are like we must have offered close to $1M a year so he must be on more than that! ?
