Keery to re sign with Roosters for a reported $900,000 a year for 3 years
I just don't know where they keep on getting their money from
That's an extra $200,000 a year on his current contract
Keery and Tedesco alone would eat up $2,000,000 a year
I guess when they say SBW will sign and pay roosters $400,000 to play for the club, that is their way of buttering us all up for what's coming
Upgrades upgrades upgrades
Next will be a Teddy extension
It blows my mind how the NRL want an even comp but turn a blind eye to cheating.
There books like fine and they always will be because they are smart in hiding the truth..
Even ex Roosters players joke about side payments, Golf memberships, Kids private school fees, Rent free apartments, etc etc.... One day someone is going to come out and tell all and it will all fall apart..
Anyway not much we can do about it except keep trying and maybe another 2005 year will come along.
I think the Salary cap should be looked at and maybe moved to a points system to ensure talent is spreed around. Rewarding the clubs who develop there juniors as well would be a great start so clubs like Roosters / Souths don't keep poaching the best talent without putting all the work in.
Dont forget the only Clubs found to be cheating in terms of Salary cap have been Tip offs
**The NRL have their Heads in the Sand and 3rd party deals are a blight on the game.**
So you are against an individual earning money from there own intellectual property..?
3rd party deals can go through the Nrl as well
If a player gets a release but still plays Nrl the 3rd party deal should go with that player as it is ment to have nothing to do with the club
Sign a 3 year deal and leave after 1, then sponcer should pay the remaining 2 years at the new club
If there is a conflict of interest on the 3rd party deal by going to a new club then the 3rd party deal should be made null and void
This will halt teams from dumping players and halt players from dumping clubs as its all about the $
Maybe the Nrl should cap 3rd party sponsors that go through the club at say $1,000,000
Clubs can use this how ever they want
Outside of that players should be allowed to receive sponsorship payments direct, all going through the nrl. But if that player is released early by a club he should be entitled to all private sponsorship money owed and that should follow him to any other Nrl club
This sponsorship contract should be transferable
This would prevent teams like say the Roosters from out bidding for top players
$9,500,000 cap
$1,000,000 club sponsered 3rd party deals which must remain transferable should a player be released early (unless a conflict of interest)
Unlimited player direct sponsorship which would follow that player to any club and this must be a water tight deal
At the end of the day, all payments and sponsorship through the Nrl
No exceptions
Then we might have an even playing field when it comes to the money players receive
Those are my thoughts anyway
