Crazy idea and probably a bad one but hear me out. We have young halves coming through but probably not ready yet, we have many halves in the squad so it would be a waste to sign another one next year.

With Brooks at 6, I wonder if it’s worth giving Mbye a go at 7 next year. He’s our captain, a natural half and maybe putting him there might bring the best out of him by giving him that responsibility.

Mbye may well have been promised the captaincy by Pascoe etc to entice him to come to WT?(along with the bucket loads of cash)
From day 1 he seemed like an odd choice for captain and he has proved it ever since. He wouldn't work harder than Lawrence, Farah etc did at training IMO.
He seems to be captain by default, definitely not playing performances and leading with inspiration, passion and pride.
Can't see him getting dropped whilst he is captain, this season is gone now so they will more than likely bear with him until seasons end and then if we are fortunate (and fair dinkum) he will be stripped of the captaincy and someone with a bit of gumption will lead us onto the field next year.

Mbye is captain of a club who is slowly turning their culture around and he’s part of that whether You like it or not. As a player he’s not been that good, but it’s hilarious when people think that Madge would’ve picked someone out of pity. Madge makes selections off hard work and as fans we’ll never see what happens behind the scenes that influenced Madge’s choice.

Offers no leadership qualities whatsoever out on the field. He's a mute.
That experiment has failed, time to change.

As much as Scott Prince turned maggot the way he left our club, as a captain he was great. Always pushing, barking at teammates to keep the effort up- even in games we were winning comfortably. He was always striving for more out of them. I haven't seen Mbye say boo out on the field this year at least.

Absolute rubbish. When players are performing well in their positions I’ll praise them to the hilt. When they are poor they deserved to be called out. Being a fan doesn’t mean being blind.

Maybe in the moment , but over the last few years it’s actually shown what a short sighted career ending decision it was . He traded in captaincy , legacy , potential rep honours as Fittler is against “me” players , and standing in the game . Seriously when was the last time media went to Woods for a quote or an interview ?
He was everywhere when he was our captain . I would say the amount he has made over the last few years would equate indirectly to the amount he has lost in things like appearances , rep honours , corporate sponsorship etc. Isaac really sold him a lemon IMO.
