as for Packer, I'd see if he'd be willing to extend his deal by a further 2 years but subsidise, similar to what we did with Lawrence when he had a heavily backended contract and we spaced it out. he's a good player and a leader with experience and quite frankly that's what we need right now.

Sadly it looks like we cannot get more then 1 good game from Packer, his effort as Matulino is combined 50 m Runs A game! We get more from Ethinghouse and Clark!
We need someone like Papalii, JWH, Vaughan, or A Paasi, the real enforcer!

Can’t say I rate either of them to be honest. Whatever winger plays outside Aitken will score 2 tries all season. Evans maybe could’ve gone okay here but it doesn’t seem like we’re too focused on props at the moment unless they’re a big name

Personally think Aitkens is an awesome running centre unfortunately he’s been McGregor-fied. He’s a deceptively strong one on one defender aswell and think he’d flourish under some proper coaching

Aitken has some good qualities but he does not know how to pass. Good running game for sure but is a huge ball hog and defensively a little iffy.

In the right team he can go well, but if you want your wingers seeing a lot of good ball (which warriors do) then he’s not your man.

Passing to your outside man can be easily coached though. Being a natural strong ball runner cannot.

If that $400K is split up to increase other salaries, you still need to sign a new player to the roster which in minimum is still around $100K. I cant see how it significantly strengthens our roster or relieves cap pressure.

Madge will be happy to sign another young fella if he needs to.

Well I’d say Momiroski comes into the starting Centre position with Hoffman, Talau, Asu as cover.
Same deal with Hooker, Liddle, Simpkin or One of the 2 Melbourne youngsters.
Fullback is the only rough one. But 400k could secure us the best young fullback going around.

There’s also Abbey and Matterson Johns that if still around could be added to the 30 on min wage.

I’m on the fence here. I think I would be a lot more for it if it had a Corey Thompson feel about it. This just sounds forced from our club.

Not being overly negative but I just dont see that that squad is stronger than having Mbye in it. YOu are effectively replacing Mbye with Matheson Johns or Brad Abbey which is hardly inspiring.

I dont see a Steven Chrichton in the wings.

That 400k adds to the rest of our money though it’s not like we ONLY have 400k. It could be the difference between affording a marquee signing or getting a player we really needed or not. It’s $400k more in the bank to be used on hopefully good players

When our team is losing the field possession battle as our number one issue what’s the one thing we need to inject into the team.
Power.
Mbye is skill and fitness. There is no power in his game.
To replace him with a bigger stronger body who can still catch and pass.

We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. We had signed AJ months before it was rumoured we could get him early. Maybe there’s other guys we’ve signed and not announced.

They do seem like they wait until towards the end of the season until making major moves.

I’ve learned that whenever tigers do something they take a month longer than any other club to officially announce it ? they’re very slow in that regard
