Hypothetical question: would you agree to a player swap of Luke Brooks for Shaun Johnson?

yes without a doubt

Then Johnson will be on the outer as soon as he starts losing his form.

Bottom line guys. If we are to attract the Fox to our mob we will be paying full back money for what ever position he plays. Anyway why not give him a go in the 1 jumper, being a Top notch winger means he can catch, he is fast as a whippet and he is a very experienced footballer

Addo Car would be a walk up starter at fullback in our team ..

Of course he would, with out a doubt, and to those saying Johnson is to old and past it, he has carried the sharks this year, 20 try assists, next best Keary on 13, plus he he kicks goals and is top 5 in leading point scorer, he is light years ahead of our halves.
It always amazes me that our supporters whinge about not being able to sign a good player, but every player tossed up is written off as too old, too injury prone, we have better, well no we don't have better, that's why we keep missing the 8

Sign the Fox ...I don’t care what it costs !

Wear the Fox hat

Wasted energy debating if SJ would be good for us. He’s not coming here, so why bother?

Probably not, but it was just an example of how we discredit every possible signing like we are a successful club who can pick and choose at will who we let in

Think we need to unload some of the cap if we were to target 2 new halves altogether.

I really think that is what we should do, our current ones are not working

I like the idea of Shaun Johnson but partnered with who is my question? JRey or Benji.
Or another player?

Johnson's on good coin atm. Another year to run so he's not moving anywhere.

Give me B. Smith & The Fox... Storm can have Brooks, Nofo & Momo in exchange.

Develop Madden in off-season(smart player who needs some bulk to play top grade) and partner him with J.Rey next year(unless we get an upgrade).

I'd be open to giving Addo-Carr a pre season at fullback and seeing what transpires. we need players that can turn half chances into points and if he's sniffing around the middle he could certainly be doing that.

Would love the fox and would give our backline some much needed pace, but anyone who thinks he will be a better fullback than AD is kidding themselves. Fox only has speed on AD...Passing, creativity and safety under the high ball AD has over him. I would be OK with playing fox in attacking sets but defensively after a few games he would be heavily found out. Sign him but for the wing, a fox + Nofo (in form) combo is something a lot of teams would be envious of.

As for the Johnson/brooks swap debate... hell no. Johnson is just as inconsistent if not more. He's having a good year this year yes but watch him drop off the face of the planet next year. Same thing happened with brooks dally M half last year but inconsistent this year. We would be just swapping like for like.

Addo-Carr requests move back to Sydney

Josh Addo-Carr has revealed his desire to play fullback if he can secure a move back to Sydney next season.

The winger is contracted to the Storm next season but has requested a clearance back to Sydney for family reasons.

Melbourne will consider a release on compassionate grounds if they can find a suitable replacement.

The 25-year-old is one of the world’s best wingers but has expressed a desire to test himself at fullback, a position he played as a junior.

“Definitely, I’ve thought about that the last couple of months,” Addo-Carr told The Sun-Herald.

“I wouldn’t mind challenging myself. I played fullback in under-20s and all of my junior footy, too.

“I’ve achieved a lot of things in a short amount of time that I am extremely grateful for, but I’d love that challenge to try to start a new chapter in my footy career. I’m excited for the future.”

Addo-Carr has nothing but fond memories of his time at the Storm but admitted being away from his family has taken its toll.

“I miss my family and home – family is the biggest thing for me,” he said. “I’ve been down here [Melbourne] for almost five years now. I lost four family members last year in the space of two months. I’ve just come to realise that life is too short and we’re not getting any younger.

“That really hit home for me, especially when my grandfather Wally passed away. I was going through a really tough stage at that time. Not many people knew but it was one of the hardest things I’ve done, to leave him pretty much on his deathbed to go back to Melbourne knowing it would be the last time I would see him.

“I love the club, they have given me everything I’ve ever dreamt of, but I love my family too and miss Sydney. I probably don’t show it, but I miss it.

“My missus also wants to move closer to her family, who live in Kempsey. I really want my kids to grow up with my family and create memories of their grandparents and great grandparents, too.

Here's a comparison, Joey Leilua whom hasn't been a good buy to date would be on $550k or more?

Who would agree that JAC is a far superior player and deserves to be renumerated at a higher rate?

JAC isn't far superior, no way. I'd say 550 is a fair price for BJ. And as for a fair price for JAC, let me just remind us that Nofa is estimated to be on about 450 - with his worthy closer to 350 I feel.

JAC, about 500 sure. 550 if we have to. That's elite winger money, Fullback money, he has to earn and we can put a clause in the contract saying something like if he starts at fullback for more than 8 games, we will pay more or renegotiate or something.

Absolutely. JAC is an elite player. Joey Leilua isn’t.

Surely we'd give this a shot.......we do need a faster fullback than AD, gotta be worth a go and if it doesn't work, back to the wing.

Heaps of players played in different positions as juniors. Doesn't mean we should sign them up based on a position they haven't played since the U13's.

Absolutely we should have a go for JAC. As a fullback though for fullback money? No thanks.

if we dont pay him someone else will, we need something if he works at fullback we will have speed to burn. if he doesnt he is still an excellent winger.
worth the gamble.
1. JAC
2. Nofo
3. Joey L
4 Momo or Mmbye
5. talau
6 Douhie
7 brooks

Brooks is still probably a better option than Madden etc, at 550k or 600k Brooks is worth keeping, if storm want a centre they can look at joey L

Brooks is not playing like a top flight half. He’s better than any other option we have or are likely to have. Let’s deal in reality. Only move on from a player you have a better replacement for or that helps your salary cap. Brooks really does neither if he is released.

If the storm want a swap Brooks = JAC .. that would revitalise Brooks career !

they'd probably ask for talau over brooks
