So the headline says the Panthers are giving him permission to negotiate, then the first sentence it says they have a fight on their hands to keep him. Which is it, cos it can’t be both. What a numbskull.

Why can't it be both ..they want to keep him ...but if he finds a deal that they get good remuneration they'll let him go

It can’t be both because they don’t have to let him go if he’s under contract. The ball is in their court. They don’t have to fight anyone in that case

So they are saying you'll have to wear the whole contract if you want him ..

Seriously, if we are going to move AD to 6, we need to sign an established fullback. Since Tedesco has left, we’ve signed 3 replacements. Lolohea, Mbye and AD. The first two failed, and while AD is a better prospect than the first two, I don’t think fullback is in his long term future. It’s why I wouldn’t touch a kid like Staines. We need to go after someone whose proven themselves as an out and out fullback.

AND GNR, that player is......(Drum roll).......


We need to get GEO to go out the back and shake his Fullback tree and see what falls out.

With our luck probably another lemon

Listened to it. Inferred the discussion was around him playing fullback.

I get the feel madge would like to keep benji in the top 30(maybe its for professionalism training, good leader etc) and its all gonna depend on what slots free up

eg. have 2 spots for half/wing need 3 to keep benji
If he can free an additional one up benji stays around on the cheap as depth and fantastic role model at training.

That would be a pretty good outcome for us imo

Benji offers you a budget priced half option, they are very rare. He would also take up a roster spot and they are thin on.

I think it’s time to move on with Benji, even if we stumble a tad in the process

At least with the comments and inside information from "The Pom" (he is IMO a dead set legend and love his posts) and what SMH are reporting that Maguire has identified our weakness with lack of speed (JAC and Staines), lack of half back (Hastings, Penrith halves others have mentioned) and a damaging forward (Proctor, etc). Hopefully some club here or UK will take Mbye, Reynolds off our hands and Marshall retires like Lawrence.
