Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Am I wrong in saying the drizzle are releasing jac on compassionate grounds if so why do we have to give them anyone it’s there decision to release him we ain’t chasing him and telling him to break his contract we got sfa for Moses and matterson ( sooky and Lala)
So why are the drizzle any different

Wanting Talau over JAC because he’s cheaper makes no sense. It’s not about saving money it’s about winning games and JAC makes our chance of winning games better

I think people are getting ahead of themselves with Staines. I don't think he'll leave and if he does it will take massive money particularly with the dogs sniffing around.

The advantage with JAC is it actually sounds like he wants to come here. He followed the tigers as a kid and when he left he indicated he would be back eventually. It could be all rubbish but opportunities for internationals to sign with the Tigers don't come around often so we need to *do what it takes to land him.

* Not as a fullback and not at crazy money

Whilst I agree, I dont think it smart business to just let go one of your highly rated prospects to get a deal done. It seems like storm have the leverage here but I dont think they do if we are canny in our approach to this.

Yeah I don’t think we will be sending them tommy. If it’s the only way to get JAC over they may consider it but I would think Madge would be looking to explore other options

I see Esan Marsters is free to talk with other clubs for next season... lol .. great buy Cows .. lol

No club will touch him on the money that the Cowboys paid.
We certainly dodged a bullet there.

Best thing madge ever did was refusing Marsters a contract upgrade. He has the worst season of his career and came to the coach asking for more money, ridiculous

Dont know how reliable this is obviously, but thought id put it here just in case anyone feels better seeing something like this.

How about an NBA style trade?

JAC to tigers
Esan to storm
Josh Reynolds to cowboys

Would have to be some salary balancing, but all teams move on from current players and get something in return?

(obviously wearing my tigers glasses here, it would be win-win for us!)

Looking forward to everyone thinking we’re getting JAC only for the NRL to rush through an Ethan Lowe medical retirement that allows Souths to sign him for half our offer after he visits Rustys farm

LOL This is about to happen

I always struggle with this forum at times like these tbh. I understand everyone is entitled to there opinion however I just don't understand alot of people on here.
So far we have had
Liddle over Harry
Talau over jac
Benji to continue.

We want to improve we want to hit the finals. Players like Grant and jac get you there. Potential doesnt.

Jac is a stud. Fast as passionate, aggressive and super talented. As well as a consistent rep player.

Harry is a beast literally changed our chances this year almost by himself.

These are players we desperately need. Yes cost is a factor but we don't often get stars interested in playing for us. You take them when you can.

REYNOLDS SUPER LEAGUE BOUND?

Wests Tigers utility Josh Reynolds could end up in the English Super League if that was an avenue he’d like to go down.

Brent Read told Triple M there could be a spot for Reynolds at Wigan, but a couple of dominoes would need to fall first.

“There’s a bit of movement in England at the moment and Josh Reynolds’ name is on the radar,” he said.

“There’s some interest from Leeds but Wigan is the interesting one. As I understand they’ve agreed to a deal with (Eels half) Jai Field, but he needs to play another game to take up that deal.

“The other moving piece there is Bevan French. There's some speculation he wants to come back to Australia, return to the NRL.

“If Jai Field doesn’t come to fruition or Bevan French comes home then that may open up a spot for Josh Reynolds.”

31-year-old Reynolds is contracted to the Tigers until the end of next year and is unlikely to be re-signed by the club given Billy Walters is coming through. A move to the UK could be a good move for the longevity of his career, given he’s more likely to get a longer deal there than in the NRL.

We could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Lose Reynolds & sign Bevan French as our fullback. Win/Win scenario

This is why we are ninth. Potential rated more highly than an actual marquee player. It beggars belief.

You are misrepresenting the position of supporters who oppose the suggestion that we should give up Talau to get JAC.

You are suggesting that we believe that Talau is a better footballer than JAC, or that he will certainly become a better footballer. I haven't seen anybody suggest that.

The issue is how much should we as a club be expected to give up to get the deal over the line.

I'm happy to pay marquee money to get JAC, but that's it. We shouldn't have to give up a promising junior as well.

We've made enough mistakes with our signings in the past I think we should forget this bloke...all his good years are behind him, and we certainly don't want to give up any of our promising youngsters...stop the rot now😕

He is 25, hardly past it

Career is based on speed which is the first thing to go. He is a stop gap signing
