Give Brooks and Talau a year under Bellamy - and it could do them wonders - and we should go and target young Brayden Trindall from Sharks.
Staggs would also be a dream to have in this team.
Also feel someone of Walmsley's build would be good - a bulldozer type with limited minutes.
Though Benji's a bit unpopular on here atm, think he deserves to be considered as a halves coach and someone like ET could be great for our defensive coaching also - he's got one of the best techniques in the game.
Lauren that would confirm what a garbage club we have become. **Brooks is a fine player. He was outstanding under Cleary and if it means we need to adjust our style of play to get him back to his best, then so be it. Our forwards were smashed and we have no pace except for Brooks.**
Not sure what the club or team's style has to do with his performance.
I mean no offence to Luke but some things shouldn't need coaching and has more to do with how a player conducts himself.
Plus we may be years out from having such a team, which is the reason why I suggested a Brooks trade with Melbourne - though I think he could be quite useful for a few teams.
I think Luciano Leilua is the perfect example.
He's been brought into a new team but has shown nothing but continued development(in all areas of his game).
- He makes the concious effort to compete in each game he plays.
- He fulfills his role every game.
- He motivates others around him and
- He's possibly made the most changes of any of our players - on a physical level - by showing the right attitude toward getting into great physical shape.
- Oh and he's also playing 60 more minutes than he was last year.
So I'd say Luciano has not only acclimated to a new system but also has evolved as a player in a weak rostered team.
The club shouldn't be held accountable for how a player chooses to apply himself professionally - that's ultimately on them.
Club's don't usually change the construction of a whole team to accommodate one player in a form slump.
I honestly believe we should get a sports psychologist in for the team and hopefully this will benefit him, because going forward we can't keep players who aren't committed.
However, I totally agree with you on is our lacklustre attack.
Lauren, Brooks is one of our best. You don't trade away one of your best. There is also a chronic shortage of halves in the NRL.
A coach should be flexible enough to structure a game plan around the players' strengths. In my experience, attempting to impose a playing style without first considering players' strengths will result in failure.
As for trading, the JAC deal us not subject to a player trade, as was advised by CCTW. Moving forward, while Grant is a good player, Liddle imo is better with a quick pass out of dh and great speed. Simpkins also imo will be better than Grant.
Grant is at a different level to anyone in our team, it is not even close.
He's been in the Storm system and it is there for all to see. But imo, Liddle is a better player and Simpkin may be best of all. This does not mean I don't believe Grant us s good player, he is obviously.
Liddle is not better.
Liddle has a bullet pass out of dh and it gets our forwards on the front foot. This is what, his second game back from a very serious knee injury? It usually takes a year to get back to full fitness? Even now I can see he has a better all round game than Grant. But this is a forum and we each have our opinions.
Our game went to water when Grant went off last night. Liddle is a very good player, Grant is a great player
No our game was lost from the start. Our try was against the run of play. The forwards were smashed, going backwards all night. Bigger, fitter faster.
Rubbish, we were struggling for metres but our long kicking game was keeping us in the game, the game was in the balance when the Panthers made an error and when turned that into a 6-0 lead, we were also centimetres from making it 10-0. Yes they are a much better team than us, but I knew that before the game, but our fight early was keeping us in the game and Grant was a huge part of the game early on. He throws a beautiful long ball out of dummy half onto the chest of our forwards to get them away from the ruck. I sometimes think you don't watch the game and just make things up.
Please, I stopped reading after 'struggling'. Some of us on this forum and other WTs' supporter don't deal in delusion.
