Any official word Momo is back to us in 2021?

Welch will stay at Storm. Storm will not release Brandon Smith.

I read we had to sign him for a 2 year deal before the grant swap to make it happen.

It’s never been made official though.

Why would Grant stay here when there is only one other player anywhere close to being as good as him (Nofa)? He can go back to Melbourne and be in the company of Munster, Papenhuyzen, Smith (Cameron/Brandon), Bromwich, Asofa-Solomona, etc.

On channel 9 Harry said he's yeah expecting to go back to melb. Tigers would have to do something crazy lol.

Honestly I would have at least made ET a small offer. He's good for the squad and doesn't shy away from work at all.

Not that easy. The NRL are reducing the number of contracts down to 28 from 30. So it’s not only cap space that is a issue but also roster spots. It’s why they are letting Benji go. Things could change if Grub Packer and Moses M find a new home and we are only paying half or less of the freight.

Is that in concrete..

Have seen nothing official from the NRL in that regard..

No nothing offical but it will happen, they have let a few leaks out there to soften the offical notice when it comes.

If I were the Tigers I would fill up 30 spots now and when it’s reduced just discard Packer and Reynolds

Yeah I agree ? if it’s possible
That’s the unknown, if there is going to be 28 players is there any possibility of cutting two players with no cap impact?
For example can we just pay out Packer and JRey, go our separate ways and have that payout sit outside the cap because whilst they’d have been in the top 30, they don’t make the top 28
Seems to me there’s a case to be made by a club management team worth it’s salt

In all likelihood it would be that the bottom 2 paid players would drop out of the squad.

Yeah maybe but what if they were two young guns you had on cheap deals, I doubt that $ alone can be the decider as even roster construction may come into it. Again, say those two were both halves
It will be interesting, I just think it’s an opportunity if we think of how we can make it work to our advantage

I know I’m in the minority but I’d keep Marshall, we saw again last night what he means to our attack, 3 of the 4 tries were his. Get him a Tony Carrol type to protect him in defense

Over a month ago I was first to break both stories, as I made contact to a storm’s official who had notified me that Josh Addo-Carr will be at the Wests Tigers in 2021 as a guarantee, for a few months now I have said that the club were favourites over Souths and Bulldogs but little over a 2-3 weeks ago I was told it’s a near certainty and it’s all but done!
Along with despite rumours saying otherwise, that Christian Welch will knock back big $ Sydney offers to remain at the Storm which seems to also be a certainty!
I’ve now been given word, that the club are looking at Israel Folau as a big money signing to bring him back to where it all started as they’re expected to have large cap space if Smith departs which is still very much in the air however..... bringing in Folau as a potential centre/wing I’m assuming which would be monumental!
My source had also made it clear that the Melbourne Storm regardless of any request to leave that Brandon Smith will not be released.... however very strong interest stemming from the Bulldogs, Wests Tigers and New Zealand Warriors!

$350k for two seasons is a smart deal from the Tigers, as is the possible $550k a season for JAC. Hopefully they both work out, sick of over spending on players.

350k is a bit much for Tamou, sub 300 would've been ok.

I'd rather keep McIntyre and Eisenhuth for approx. 450k than Tamou and another min wage forward.

Dragons are more of a basket case than us. I read Tamou lives in western Sydney and didn’t want to move houses either hence tigers being a good option

Dragons are more of a basket case than us. I read Tamou lives in western Sydney and didn’t want to move houses either hence tigers being a good option
