Signings

Any signing we make will be a player that the majority of clubs are not interested in, so it will not be ground breaking news. you look pretty silly blowing trumpets and putting on a big media bash to announce you have signed a bench player from a rival club or a state cup player.

As others have said,if they had a gun player signed up they would have used the news to try entice the punters back that have walked away after recent efforts
 
How about we sign Craig Bellamy he always seems to get the best out of his players… I think his off contract.

"Inconvenient true" :slight_smile:, how can Bellamy have such a success with bunch of nobodies ?
Our success in 2005 is a carbon copy, Sheens signed injury prone Prince and unwanted Hodgson.
I think instead of wishing for 'gun' players (Hill, Hopoate, McCracken, Graham, O'Hara, Sattler, Blair, Anasta anybody ?) we had much better success with bunch of nobodies/unwanted players like Tuiaki, Whatuira, Laffranchi, Ruchards, Ryan, Austin, Taupau, Lodge etc.
Arguably the only successful 'gun' players were Ellis and Payton :frowning:
 
I think we can speculate all we want.

We require Wests Tigers management to correctly identify our shortcomings and put steps in place to address them. I think we all agree aned hopefully they do as well that we are short of a quality centre and two second rowers.

Lets hope they make decisions to allow us to move forward in 2016 and in the meantime allow JT 2015 to change our structure to a winning culture.
 
Honestly, I can't see too many players being interested to join our club at the moment. I'd be surprised if we announced any signings at all next week, but if we do I'd be happy with Lewis Brown to start with.

If we can at least finish 2015 looking like we've got some direction and are building towards something, then we might be able to pick up at least another hard running backrower and a quality young centre before next season. This will also depend of course on who is off contract or who is on their way out.
 
Taylor said at the start of this year that their probably will not be any substantial signings before 2017, hinting our books were in such a mess.He has been up front and true to his word on everything so far so I would imagine any signing will be small fish variety and I am afraid we need a couple of whales to turn this joint around. Just for morale so the punters have something they can hang some hope on for next year would do me, I mean I would hate to go into a long off season with only a couple of B grade signings to dream about.
 
Anyone have any idea how many minutes Lewis Brown averages in the back row?
I think for the most part he has been a bench substitute.
Was he a starting player for the Warriors or Panthers?

Thing today on the 7th tackle (get to it via Yahoo web page) just saying we are involved in talks with Pauli Pauli and Parra have not made him an offer. Its not anything new, but it seems the Chinese whispers we have been hearing for a while have some substance
