Sika Manu

Yeah it's in the SMH. Apparently the Bulldogs would be the most keen as they will be trying to replace Te'o.

I like Manu, but he's got the ankles of a 90 year old.

As one quality forward dropped out of the player market, another’s search for a contract intensified. The South Sydney Rabbitohs won the race to sign Brisbane Broncos forward Ben Te’o – now the next stop for Sydney clubs appears to be Sika Manu.

Manu, the Test-class Melbourne Storm forward, conceded yesterday he might be forced to leave the Storm, due to salary-cap pressures, even though his priority is to stay there.

It’s believed six Sydney clubs – Parramatta Eels, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Wests Tigers, Penrith Panthers, Manly Sea Eagles and Cronulla Sharks – have expressed an interest in the second-rower. The fact that Te’o's future is with the Rabbitohs may ensure interest is stepped up from the Bulldogs, who had also pursued Te’o. Manly’s interest will likely continue if they are unable to secure Tony Williams, although he appears set to stay with the Sea Eagles.

Manu and his manager Chris Orr are likely to hold talks with several Sydney clubs next week.

Sorry GNR, I did mean the Bulldogs, what I meant was they missed out on Te'o so they will look to Manu as the next best thing to Te'o.

Poorly worded on my part.

Great, well pay more overs for a melbournite with a poor work rate. No thanks.

I wouldn't want anything to do with Teo. As for Manu - I think he is a great runner of the footy at times but I'd hate to sign Blair mark 2.

I like Manu's aggression so I had a look at his stats this season so far. He's currently injured and hasn't played since round 5 but here are his stats for 2012.

RD 1:
51 minutes, 11 hit ups for 100 metres, 0 line breaks, 1 offload, 23 tackles, 2 missed tackles, 0 errors

RD2:
44 minutes, 8 hit ups for 59 metres, 0 line breaks, 0 offloads, 17 tackles, 2 missed tackles, 2 errors

RD3:
44 minutes, 4 hit ups for 26 metres, 1 line break, 1 offload, 18 tackles, 0 missed tackles, 1 error

RD4:
57 minutes, 10 hit ups for 72 metres, 0 line breaks, 2 offloads, 24 tackles, 3 missed tackles, 0 errors

RD5: (injured)
25 minutes, 4 hit ups for 39 metres, 0 line breaks, 1 offload, 8 tackles, 1 missed tackle, 1 error

Based on those stats, you would have to say no thanks.

We need a worker to replace Ellis and he isn't that man.

If we need a worker to replace Ellis…. Check Liam Fulton's stats?

A worker with impact, is what I meant.

I appreciate Liam's work rate but he doesn't make the impact that we need.

dont worry he wont come to us. he's too big - sheens dont like that.

You mean apart from Keith Galloway, Aaron Woods, Matthew Groat, Ray Cashmere etc?

We were bitten with Blair so no thanks.

Lets look at some young Brisbane Broncos and Warriors who ahve dominated the Under 20's plus Kiwis are big boys.
