Dwyer playing prop - Bronson Harrison mark II.

A second rower being forced to play prop because of Sheens' obsession with playing second rowers in the front row.

Dwyer is not a player who should be forced to hit it up the middle with the pigs. He made 30 metres last night. 30 metres.

Once again Sheens just refuses to replace injured players with a fit player in the same position. How hard is it to select a prop forward to replace Payten when injured? Why is it so difficult?
 
How do you think Sheens has been using Dwyer for the last 7 weeks?….this isn't something that just happened last night...

It is Sheens Obseesion with having 1 frontrower on the field and Backrowers for the majority of gametime...

Fulton, Heighington and Ellis play 95% of the game..

Payten,Moors, Gibbs, even Fifita are backrowers really ...

To me it showed how much we missed Payten..... he is crucial to the 'PROP' rotation...
 
I agree with Hybrid in that Dwyer's game should not be based on hitting it up the middle like a prop. He was so damaging in the NYC playing wide on the edges where he could offload and put players away, and he looked good doing it for Wests this year before getting the call up to FG.

The 1 prop on the bench I don't agree with, it should be two props, one backrower and a utility back. Heighno, Ellis and Fulton can all play 80 minutes if required, 1 back rower to help them out is all that's required.

Payten missing last night definitely hurt, and Moors being injured also hurt. Two props such as Payten/Fifita, or Payten/Moors, Fifita/Moors is what the team needs IMO. Dwyer is a good backrow option and then you've got the utility back. I cannot see this team going too far in the finals with 1 prop on the bench.

To me it shows how stubborn Sheens is with his selection.

Payten is out, so he replaces him with Gibbs in the starting line-up (fair enough) but why bring Flanagan onto the bench? Gibbs was originally supposed to be on the bench and then he is replaced with a small backrower who lacks impact at the best of time.

Galloway goes off injured and is replaced by Simon Dwyer. Does Sheens really expect Dwyer to provide the same impact that Galloway does as a prop forward.

It is pathetic.

I agree to a point. Sheens loves stacking his bench with 3 backrowers and a back.

I think Fifita and Gibbs are props and Moors is a big backrower who could also play prop. I do not think that Dwyer is in the same category.

We also have 3 starting backrowers who can play a lot of minutes.

Logically the thing to stack the bench with would be props. Sheens though sees things differently.
 
yes another example of sheens pig headedness….they wont be getting anymore of my cash whilst sheens remains at the helm ....

Does it really matter where he plays. IMO he would rather play in the back row or centre's but, at this level he should be able to cover the front row.

No he shouldn't. He's a 20 year old backrower who has never played front row prior to being shunted there a few weeks ago. He's at his best when running on the edges where he has the ability to break the line and offload.

well said. Sam Thaiday is a perfect example. On the four nations tour sheens had him playing prop off the bench which thaiday publicly said he wasn't comfortable doing. The bloke has ruined or stalled more careers then he has helped. Dwyer would be well advised to get out now.

Yes it really does matter where he plays. He is a backrower who should be running on the edges, not trying to make metres up the middle.

Obviously it was very effective as he made a whopping 30 metres last night. No doubt Sheens will keep using him in this position, just like:

Morris playing halfback for two and a half years
Benji playing halfback
Benji continuing to goalkick
Corey Payne playing prop
Danny Galea playing prop

Etc. etc. etc.
 
he's even mentioned playing ellis in the front row. he's killing dwyer's career… play a prop at prop!

what gets me is that he admits as AUSTRALIAN COACH that you need TWO PROPS, A BACK-ROWER, and A UTILITY on the bench. if it is good enough for AUSTRALIA then it makes sense for the TIGERS! AAARRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!
 
I posted this same point in Willows Match Review. I can't believe he goes in with more than 1 back-rower on the bench with 3 80 minute back-rowers starting. There should be 2 props and a back-rower like Dwyer who gives an option when he comes on. It means your back-rowers don't have to play 80 and exhaust themselves each week.
 
Why wasn't Moors playing. Is he injured or exhausted from playing in reserve grade the game before?
 
And now that Bronson Harrison has moved clubs he is playing better footy too ..
It was good the Big Sauce got knocked out , he came back and played better , ran straighter and harder.He is more effective with that approah.. He got his senses back after that knock..

Sustained a rib injury a couple of weeks ago. Due back next week if the injury has healed.
 
Ah Danny Galea at prop for the Tigers, the Telegraph made a big deal about him not having scored a try all year last year then he delivered in our crushing win over Canterbury, I suppose he was always gone at that stage but I stood up and applauded him for breaking his duck in his last ever game for the Tiges.

They are not being exhausted, they are 80 minute players. Playing them for any less would be the same as giving Benji or Robbie a stint on the bench. With Dwyer, although I may not agree with it, he seems to be picking the best player not the best player for the position
