Simona on the move

I think the reason is to make room for our pending offers to the "Big 4".

The Club may be bringing someone's contract moneys forward a year, so they can leave more room in the 2018 capt to make the big offers necessary to keep our young stars. That would make perfect sense.

Its hard to believe we are over the cap for 2017, especially with how inactive we have been in the player market.

Certainly as possibility, but I still think they have either been knocked back on a TPA or a cap concession. Anyway I guess we will know in a day or two if this has legs

So has there been any reports from any remotely reliable sources? Has the DT even run a story on this or is it all based on the mole and lurker?

So far as I'm aware there has not been a story from a reliable source. Nor has there been one from the Telegraph.

I'm here all week folks.

I was alluding to the same thing in my post

Yeah, but if even the Errorgraph isn't reporting it usually means it total BS.

Aye, very big difference between researched, authored, edited, referenced and published paper article, versus internet-based rumour-mongering under pen-names.

A story in the Gold Coast Bulletin confirmed the Titans interest in signing Simona as did Fox sports. Whether they are considered as reliable sources I have no idea

I'm sure plenty of teams would confirm intrests in signing Tedesco too…. doesn't mean much if he isn't being shopped around however... not being smart, just making a point.

Contract money for 2018 season must be paid out of 2018 cap, unused money does not carry over

Yeah but you can give someone an extra $200K in 2017 that you don't then have to give them in 2018 if you have the cap space free.

Fairly sure "front loading contracts" have been banned after manly abused it a few years ago.

You just upgrade and extend, it happens all the time. Parra did it with Semi a couple of years ago. Teddy would be the most obvious one to do it with.

All good. Just seems a source is often deemed unreliable because they report things we don't agree with or want to hear. But once it is seen as positive then it becomes more credible. Unfortunately for us we dont get many positive stories written of late so the source of credible reports seem almost non existent to some. Just an observation.

I find tomato a reliable sauce.

I dunno, I guess a little, however I was extremely sceptical when I first heard of idris coming to the club, didn't believe it until the club come out with it…. this is how I live my tigers supporters life, everything is rubbish until I see a statement from the club or the nrl... the media have obligations to sell the news, wether it be true, or rumoured and totally false. The fact that they are not held accountable is disgusting and therefore I won't believe any of it.

and about the only reliable sauce too according to this forum.

So we just believe everything we read then? Sounds like a great rule to live by… enjoy!

As Manu says on My Kitchen Rules: "Where's the sauce???" (It's all over the internet so it must be true!)

As Abraham Lincoln once said, if it is on the internet, it is a fact.

Not talking about unused money.

Talking about bringing some 2018 money into 2017, and creating space in the 2018 Cap to make big offers to our big 4.

Chooks did that with Maloney didn't they? Front loaded him one year before he was even at the club.
