I agree with Geo and NT and a few others.
However I think JT is unfairly criticised to a large degree. Has he been coming up with no game plans or shocking game plans as some seem to think?
Maybe he has been coming up with, simplified game plans to suit the talent he has. As the talent gets more experienced the game plans can become more complicated or more intricate if you like. So as the younger guys improve he can unleash them a little. Earn the right as more knowledgeable people than me have said.
Look, we said when JT took over and as younger guys were introduced that we would get "Rocks and Diamonds" - people seemed to accept that in the off season but once this inconsistency started to happen for real - a lot of people on here don't like it. So it is the coaches fault. I don't buy that - it is the players not carrying out the game plans.
Now before you jump and down, I don't care what the game plan is, simple or complicated, but it can't be carried out if you are dropping the ball, giving away cheap penalties, arm grabbing in defence and have a forward pack not putting in the effort and getting owned. I don't know for sure but I wouldn't think any of JT's game plans included any of those traits. Therefore how do we know what the game plan was when we didn't man up and turned in a pathetic display like we did against Canberra or didn't man up like we did against the "Rorters" - they were "Rocks" days and if young guys are to improve (which they are slowly) then we have to put up with it.
We are a work in progress, younger guys are improving - we got better when ET has joined us (a little experience goes a long way) and we will see a huge difference when we get, maybe two more experienced people. We just can't afford them at the moment. That is not the fault of the coach, but he has to make do with what he has until the money becomes available.
We may not make the 8, probably won't. Steve will sack JT, he likes giving him ultimatums - however if people can't see the improvement in the team when they get it together and therefore follow the game plan they are bad judges. The coach should be allowed to follow through with the team he is building, with more experience they could be anything.
Up the Tigers! (I'm hoping for a "Diamond" day against the Storm).
