The article says we've got 4 spots open in our top 30 for next year. If you look at the Tigers website it only lists 24 players contracted for 2022, leaving us with 6 spots open for next year

Reece Hoffman and William Kei are not included in that list, maybe they're getting promoted?

Hoffman is entering the Top 30 at this stage, Kei isn't.

We have 25 spots filled at this stage (26 if you include the club taking up Roberts' option which the result of that decision hasn't been announced yet).

That's what I was thinking to be honest. I remember seeing Hoffman was joining the 30 in 2022.

If Hoffman is coming, then that gives 28? not much room left?

If you include Hoffman and Roberts it makes 26 not 28, already included Hastings and Gildart in that number.

In my list below, the club have included Roberts, Hastings and Gildart, by my reckoning that gives us 27, if you add Hoffman, that obviously gives us 28?

“I can genuinely say that it is chalk and cheese from where we were five or six years ago to where we are now. It’s a totally different club to be around.”

The club’s 10-year deal with Venues NSW, in which it has been required to play four games a year at Stadium Australia or Bankwest Stadium, expires at the end of next season.

The club acknowledges its future lies in the south-west, with the NRL in dialogue with the NSW government over a new stadium in Liverpool to be shared between the Tigers and Bulldogs. The other option is Campbelltown.

“Speaking for myself, as to the options presented for a stadium, there is much to be said for Campbelltown, which would solidify a presence of the Wests Tigers all the way from the inner-west to the south-west,” Hagipantelis says.

It’s possible that a decision is still in the process and he could be gone though. Until they announce anything you have to assume there’s no contract for next year.

But yes you are right that if Roberts, Cini and Amone all stay, that makes 28.

None of this is really new. A lot of it is stuff that has been printed before and is now just in one story so it’s a stretch to call it an investigation more like a Year 7 school report. The 2 players mentioned not in speaking terms aren’t at the club next year so there is no need for them to talk. **The article also ignores that Balmain junior league is the fastest growing in the state and is run by Wests Ashfield.**

Interesting....can you provide more details?

@cochise Its never been mentioned before that Madge had final editing rights on the documentary???????

I had never heard that, I doubt it as Fox had control and the club wasn't completely happy with how it was put together.

I wld be astonished if Foxtel gave final editing to the club..if these reality shows are controversy free, they dont rate
But if the club did indeed have the final say, then someone shld be canned as it was a PR disaster for aspiring recruits... but even moreso incumbent coaching staff
..actually,quite a few ppl shld be canned regardless!

“At their best and in their prime, they will compete with any of the big clubs across the entire premiership,” former NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg says.

“They have untapped potential. If they can realise that potential, it would be a huge boost for them and the sport. They will become one of the biggest clubs in the country. They are the sleeping giants.”

The Chairman now says the Home ground should be at Campbelltown.. good luck with all of that ! I am sure the 90% of memberships will come from Campbelltown!

they shoukd think long and hard at memberships before the club moves home games to campbletown
I've been a member since we started at wests tigersthey can shove it if that happens

A few Lost memberships won't worry them....
It's been happening a bit lately...
All good...amazing some prefer 4 or 5 home grounds to one... Each to their own

It will be offset by the new members picked up as a result of all the publicity the Wests Tigers are receiving.

Another SMH article on how awful we are. Chammas has a weird obsession with us. Arguably Brisbane are a bigger team than us and in a worse condition.

I don’t believe that part is true regarding the doco

Agree. My understanding is Fox had final edit

I just don’t understand why the club would not of signed Bennett for the 2020 season and dealt with the aftermath from their on. Appoint a caretaker and wait for the Brisbane board to crumble on their decisions…

Great point..

We've had people like Taupau, Cleary and Tedesco sign a contract a year in advance and we had to let them go early. Tigers should have (in hindsight) been a bit smarter (albeit unethical IMO, but that doesn't even matter anymore).

It's funny that we have had an opportunity to sign both Bellamy and Bennett but fell short. I think Des was also available around that time?
