I used to collect magic the gathering cards, have thousands of them, don't have anyone to play them with though, am counting down the years till my son is old enough to play then with me, he is 7 so only a couple of years to go

Oh Mama! Female tigers supporter, that loves motorbikes, think I'm in love :blush: I'm mad keen motorcyclist, have a few bikes at present. No Guzzies though. I raced post classic for a little while, young family now, had to hang up the racing leathers. Also keen surfer and mountain biker.

Don't know if this photo will work , One of my Major hobbies is my Discus Aquarium Tank , these Fish come from the Amazon in South America , they are a peaceful Fish with vibrant Colours , when i go to feed them they rise to the tank and they actually lie on the Palm of my hand , it's amazing . This Fish is not for the beginners , i Change 90 % of the Water every 2nd Day as this Speeds up there Growth to Adult size .
Another hobby is Jigsaw puzzles , but finding the time with kids is not easy , i used to do it as a kid and have completed up to a 5000 piece puzzle , within a week i could complete a 3000 piece puzzle so i'm quite quick at it , but finding the time for it is hard .
Dad and i also have a fierce rivalry in Chess when we find the time , he usually beats me but i give him a run for his money (i win the odd game ).
Other interest Golf , Fishing ,Soccer and getting Funky with the Mrs :wink: :laughing:

I had a 2 foot tank years ago (it's still in the shed) .
Had neon tetras / electric yellows / silver sharks etc . Then my daughter poured in a bowl of pasta ( to feed the fishies ) so to speak , I rescued what I could and then lost interest .
I wouldn't mind getting back into it , but it's a lot of dedication & commitment !

Tropical tank is way easier than looking after Discus fish , Discus fish need the right P.H from 5.5 to 6.0 , the P.H that comes out of my tap is a P.H level of 7.8 to 8.0 , so i need to add the Acid Buffer to adjust the Water , also the right Hardness of the Water and the Pro minerals and Trace Elements which imitates there Water in the Amazon ,so there is a bit of Water Chemistry with Discus Fish. But i have a 140 litre Drum in the Garage which i feel with Water after i do a Water Change and i already know my exact measurements for each of the things i mentioned so it's easy for me now , i have a System in place , i also run 2 Filters in the Tank which cycles through 2800 litres per hour.

With the Fish you used to have , that is what i started with 15 years ago when i got into it .
all your electric yellows , electric blues and all those Cichlids are great but you can't have a planted Aquarium cause they destroy it , the Neons are great , the Silver Sharks are nice when there small once they get to big , there crazy in the Tank , my favourite used to be Clown Loaches .

hobbo you'll be fine with Tropical with what you had trust me , Tropical are much nicer than GoldFish and have more Character. All you need to do is get a Filter that runs a 3 foot Tank to make your job easier and once a week siphon out the fishes poo on the bottom of the tank 1 to 2 buckets and you will have an imaculate Aquarium , trust me . The big advantage you have? is that the Water that comes of the Tap is good enough for those Tropical Fish , so you do not have to do any Water Conditioning like i do .

I am massively impressed. I had a three foot tank but a year or so ago it burst and water was gushing everywhere! I had to move my cabinet and everything out to the shed, and now I have a small all in one tank with some goldfish.

I was using an Eheim filter for the old tank, but thats too powerful for the small one. The canister filter I am using us inadequate and I cannot keep the brown algae away! I want my old tank back in action!

I had a Discus once, but not the dedication you have. I didn't have too much trouble with them until I moved and then lost them. I had Oscars for a long time…they were great. I had massive ones too.

You have made me want my big tank back!
