Spoon, will it be ours?

We'll end up on the same points, I think it'll be F/A that decides it. We manage to avoid floggings and we should be safe.

Who do you see the Knights beating from their remaining games ?….footy tipping sheep stations up for grabs...

Might be good for an upset or two. May do in Parra and Canberra.

I don't see us beating anyone other than the Warriors.

That will be heartbreaking for Newcastle to end up on even points for last place twice in 3 years with us yet they score both spoons.

Why heartbreaking? They're an honest side but if you give up floggings, then that's what happens. We gave up a few floggings ourselves earlier in the year and it's taken us some time to bring the F/A deficit down - even a few weeks ago before we beat Newcastle they had a superior F/A.

In fact it's testament to the sides that may have a poor season with infrequent wings, but don't get flogged too often, that they rarely end up with the wooden spoon.

The main trouble for Newcastle is they've started to put some form together when it's essentially too little too late. Tigers have been on the gradual improve for a few months. Newcastle had very winnable games against us and Dogs and blew them both with fundamental errors, so if you can't beat the teams above you, why would you expect to finish above them on points?

Once again you wrote three paragraphs to say nothing. my god you are boring.

I'm all for people trying to find positives in our season. But their aren't any besides a few signings.
My point is. If we get 15th everyone will breathe a sigh of relief and nobody will be held accountable.
Only a spoon will bring the accountability forward. Fans will be filthy and with every right.

I think some board members have to go. And I mean Go.

We have gradually improved on the field and within the club, there is excitement building for season 2018 since the recruitment drive and no salary cap overly pressured..Iam happy with the improvement from the team since Ivans appointment and although there is a fair way to go before we can be confident about making the finals,I reckon we are on the right track..
If we get the spoon then sobeit after the trauma we have been through this season,I wont like it but if it happens it happens as long as we get better and better as the seasons progress..I honestly think in the next 3/4 years we will be a very good football club and competitive team always within striking distance of the finals…
I'm a positive sort of guy and have seen enough negative to say it will almost be gone from this club within the next 2 years...

Hopefully the negativity on this great forum will also dissipate eventually even though we are a group who love to debate and cast our opinions......

Remaining games -
Knights - Eels, Storm, Raiders and Sharks
Tigers - Manly, Roosters, Cowboys and Warriors

Think we'll avoid it.

So lets look at it. Eels are red hot and should smoke the Knights. Storm may rest their players but should be clinical. Raiders are doing a last charge but if they don't turn up they have a chance. The Sharks will be fighting for a finals spot and I reckon they will turn up. I can see the Knights wining maybe 1/4

Tigers however have better chances. Manly have lost form lately however got their mojo back last game. If DCE and co turn up were gone. Roosters and Cowboys both are having Great seasons. I can forsee the Roosters being bruised after the Manly lost, if they win their next game they will win ours and they will turn up with Teddy coming next year. Cowboys, well it is at Campbelltown and they are without Thurston. We have a chance but their form has still been fantastic. Warriors have been pathetic. I can see us winning 1/4 definitely.

Happy for us to miss the spoon and build some pride.

Once again you have no comeback except insults, glad to still have you around. Or is it time for another "look at me" fishing trip sign-off?

If it's so boring, don't read it all, don't comment. Such an easy fix for you, it's like trying to speak to my young children.

Getting the spoon would be pretty devastating after the improvements the club has made to itself since April. I felt like that circus pre-Origin was the toughest time the club had gone through since Terry Lamb was coach, and we've matured through it and made positive changes.

To then get the spoon would be heart breaking. We deserved it earlier in the season, but not anymore.

If we end up with less points than The Knights , then we deserve the spoon , no matter what excuses are used. Last is last and we have had a complete season to ensure we get enough points to evade the spoon,
So far we haven't done that.

If we come last, it will be two last places out of three seasons
That can't be excused. ( although will some stamp their feet and say we were equal last in 2015, so there no spoon)
As far as I'm concerned. Half a spoon is no better than a full one.
But if it makes a few happy, they can have it their way
I'd rather we face the fact, get rid of the players that aren't within a bulls roar of first grade, and expect better from the club in the future.
