Well we won and won well, but Brooks was horrible.

I listened to the game on ABC grandstand and funnily enough the commentator said that Brooks has been outstanding the last 3 weeks since Benji hasn't been there....
I said Brooks has been playing much better since Benji hasn't been calling the shots and choking Lukes game and so has the team...
I also was chastised because I was critical of a the club legend and favourite...
funny how things are when you look outside the square..

Not by me mate, I have said it for 2 years, and now look at the right side attack with grub running it, Benji who

Me too. Nothing makes me more happy than seeing the tigers going well. Marshall got away with being terrible for years and years. Watching him lead this club down the tube on field was torturous. JRey is going well and so he should be with the cash he's on. He has a real motivation to win.

Careful mate whilst I agree 100%, when I said this a long time ago I was accused of hating Benji, which is wrong, I just wanted my team to win, and Benji was a major reason they were not.
I was glad Benji got to come back for a cameo where it all started, but that was for 2018, we went in to 2020 with him still as our starting 6, fair dinkum it was never gonna work, it didn't work in 2018 or 2019, so why would it work in 2020.

To be fair though , this is the longest stretch josh has managed to put together in years . I’m glad he has taken his rightful place in the 6 . Hopefully benji is doing a great coaching job behind the scenes

I thought Brooks and Mbye were pretty much spectators until the Dogs tired towards the end
Harry has stepped up into the leadership role that we all hoped Brooks wld someday fill...!

You do realise we have Joey Leilua , Garner and Nofa on the right . As well as our fullback is right handed ? There’s a reason they lead the comp for most tries down the right . Everyone was screaming for Joey to get the ball. He gets the ball and Brooks and Mbye are spectators. Seriously ? Joey was having a field day . Give the bloke the ball !!

I got slaughtered in here last week after sticking up for Reynolds. I hope those guys are warming to him a bit more after tonight's game.

Like I have said all along, not his fault he is getting paid as a superstar, he has a go and lifts the team, and when given a fair go plays really well.
**He has played second fiddle to Benji for over 2 years, which was wrong IMHO, and now he is given a shot at what he should have been doing a long time ago, and he is making a pretty good fist of it.**

To be fair Reynolds was injured for a good part of those 2 years, couldn’t stay on the field for longer than a few games in a row. It’s nice to finally see him fit and firing for us. I was worried that we were going to offload him before we actually saw the best of him playing in our colours!

Thought Brooks was solid tonight.
A few loose passes, but overall he made some good decisions in attack. Nice break too.
I wish he’d just put up a torpedo instead of all those dumb bombs. They do nothing for the tigers and nothing for his game.

Thought that was Brooks' worst attacking game of the season tonight. He had nothing and made several errors. But the team did well and Reynolds and Doueihi got the ball where it needed to go
Brooks defence and effort was excellent though. It just wasn't his night to shine with ball in hand

There was one great chop-down tackle, had to check it was Brooks!

He made a stunning tackle on Nappa. Take a bow son. Or maybe that was Grant. Anyway, his defence is incredible and given he used to get slammed for his ability to tackle. The improvement in defence from him is nothing short of immense.

I’ve already explained how the ops take is ridiculous previously . Brooks is the 6th best half in the Competition. Is he Andrew Johns . No ! He’s more like Matt Orford . But that’s ok . You put the right pieces around him and he can go close to a Dally M . And maybe fringe origin. I respect your entitlement to an opinion , I just couldn’t be any more opposed to it.

It is RIDICULOUS to compare anyone to A Johns he is a once in a life time player. How many other halves can you put in the same league as A Johns

Langer, Thurston.. There's two.

Yeah nah. Johns is the greatest playmaker and the most dominant halfback I’ve ever seen.
Was always unfair to compare Brooks to him.

I think Thurston has Johns covered to be honest but yes, it's unfair to compare Brooks to him.

Only way he would cover him - is with a blanket.

His attack was close, but falls way behind in defence.

And I was a JT fan.

When Thurston went to Nth Qld practically every game he played he ran the show. Especially in his later years. Johns used to have too many quieter games for my liking. I'd still have either over anyone else though if given the chance.

Not brooks's fault. It's clear that grant is a vampire and has been sucking out the all the speed that brooks once had....

I agree with you regarding Brooks and I think that is what Madge values about him - his defence. I do think the better teams will sort us out though as the Dogs threw very little at us. We will needs both sides working to score points.

How long will people keep defending Brooks? He is lame. He is the worst half in the comp and it’s not as if he’s a rookie. He’s been playing long enough. He is a fail. Get Sezer. He is confident and takes the line on.
