Starford To’a #253

Makansini is a few years off NRL level to be fair and we can't just keep saying "we have juniors" when we have qualify NRL talent already playing for us.

Toa has proven himself this year and I understand why he'd want to test the market.

But it is important we retain him.
Need to spend $$ were mothballing..or paying our players to play at other clubs

I think he will. Adel on the WTL podcast wouldn't make this up and has good connections at the club still.

It's probably still in final negotiations stage.

But is saying that, O'Loughlin seemed to do everything he could to persuade Stefano out of the club.
which for Stefano was a terrific decision

To’a has put together two good months of footy after a long period of injury and inconsistency. It makes sense for him to be trying to stir up negotiations now. Hopefully we pay him based on his entire body of work.

Ive been one of his biggest critics, the guy is soft as butter like he has broken bones syndrome soft with injuries. But in a team full of shit the corn sticks out. Average NRL player at best, so he automatically is in our top 5 players. Club needs to sign him just so Richo can get a win.

Wait hold up, this isn't a Sky News forum what are you doing on here?

I can see him turning into a villain again once he gets re-signed. One of those players supporters turn on very quickly.
He’s one who took a while to develop after a somewhat shaky start. I think supporters will be tentative on him until he puts in a solid year or two. He’s only really come into his own this season.

I’m confused, someone said he wrote “All rumours 👍 ✌️” on his Insta (don’t have Insta so dunno). Does this not mean “All rumours are correct, peace” or something? Not sure why everyone thinks it’s the other way or am I missing something?

Certainly not based on his form from last year - or the year before.
He's got some highlights this year for sure... But not all of his games have been great.
WTs are not in a position to wait see.particularly with new clubs coming
Weve missed May..possibly not an awful outcome..so the alternative is re signing someone like Naden..!
Weve seen what Toahas to offer when healthy, and its pretty good
Hes currently one of the form centres in the competition actually
Need to take a punt on him

Yeah - We've taken a punt on him (He's been here 4 years)
Apart from 1 other game, We're talking about him just now.
He has potential (Still) also has a poor game in him, I don't mind re-signing him at all...
But the wrist slitting fear here is a bit extreme.

We have indeed invested heavily in him..but no-one is "slitting wrists"or whatever ...just making an objective decision based on where we are TODAY vs our options, and our strong preference shld be to keep him (I hope)
