The major difference now is that he gets early ball in 1v1s. I always rated him and just thought he had shot halves inside him. Probably true, but when they said he was playing injured for a while it made sense.

Early ball is a huge change and having Bula inside with Turuva outside is also helping him a heap.

I think both him and AD have stepped up heaps this year. Haven’t been the biggest fan of either but credit is due at the moment.
 
Just needs to do it consistently. His problem is he's good every few games.

And even in those games, he drifts in and out of games.

Has the skills, just needs to continue to apply himself. Has a real opportunity at the moment, and probably a career defining one.

Consistentcy, both in games and across the season has been his biggest issue. His best and worst games are miles apart, but staying on the park fit and healthy, could change all that. We’ve all seen what he can do.
He was in my multi today.
Loved his pass to sunny, he could turn sunny into the top try scorer bcoz he’s not a hog.
On his current trajectory he could end up a comet ☄️.

Think Sunia will help him to stay switched on as well, that edge is building well

We stopped getting them good ball in the second half. Those two were all over their opponents in A.
Star - 21 tackles 1 missed.
Sunny missed 5 of 10 in the first half.

you're right anyway, he is turning into a premier centre (no offence, Hal).

he's excellent out of yardage, he creates points out of nothing, he can beat you in multiple ways and some of his defensive efforts are A1. there aren't many centres out there that could stop Atkinson the way he did on full time in regulation.

at this point, if he isn't picked for the Kiwis, it's a farce.

I noticed a worrying situation early in the game against the Sharks in defence Galvin shifted to wing pushing Turuva and To’a each one in and Turuva missed a couple of tackles going in low around the legs.
It wasn’t a one off situation saw it happening a couple of times,
Galvin has the size to defend 3 in and should stay there leaving Turuva on the wing.
Halves pushing out to the wing to hide in defence is one of my dislikes learn to tackle it’s part of the game.
