Roberts is officially signed up for 2022 it’s just been updated this morning on the west’s tigers website & he will be the first centre chosen every week he will be back to his best & prove many people wrong on this forum.

It’s a minority opinion, but I think he and AJ will get first crack in the centres.

I've got Gildart and AJ at this point but really it's a guessing game. To'a could grab a spot. Junior could grab a spot. AD comes back into the team and may go into the centres.

Our centres (excluding Doueihi) all look borderline first graders but there is a lot of inexperienced talent there. I'm hoping 2 of them kick on.

Gildart and Junior Tupou for me.

Gildart and Toa will be the starting centres for round 1
Gildart has been ripping it up at training and smoked nofo in a training drill
Toa is Nrl standard and is a good player ahead of AJ and Pauga wont be used for depth at all if lauire goes down he goes to FB and AJ or Pauga will fill in

Its good to have depth there but for me, AJ is the standout at centre. I would like to think Tupou will be on the other side however likely to be Gildart/ Roberts.

Roberts is signed for 2022. That’s our 30 players signed now

he isn't yet.

if we can announce a new signing from another club that plays the same position as roberts, and still not made an official announcement on roberts that speaks volumes. absolutely no room for him now.

Roberts is officially listed in our top 30. No announcement needed because he was already signed for this year originally. Tigers have honoured the second year option.

no, we didn't take up the option for the second season. he wasn't good enough and the contract was for too much coin. if he has since signed he's been upgraded from a train and trial contract, which would be a real shame.

and as he wasnt signed to a professional contract then we should announce him.

can't see him getting any gametime ahead of To'a, gildart, kepaoa, tupou,

Roberts will be here for 22 but don’t think he’ll play Round 1 not unless injuries or COVID hits our players right before the season kicks off

Eventually I think Tupou will be a regular Centre for us and I reckon Gildart will be his partner

Honestly, he has had HUGE wraps from Newcastle fans and the club as well for a while now...

Danny Buderus, himself has told me they're so happy with Best and To'a... big names of the future.

Very good signing.
He is first grade standard too, not a cup player.

Why would Newcastle let him go/ negotiate elsewhere if he is so good and has 2 years left? Surely not to cater for old man Gagai.

I have no clue...

I see the coaching staff a fair bit and have chats to them here and there and they had nothing but positive stuff to say about To'a over the past 3 years pretty much.

Maybe he just is backing himself for a start and sees the tigers as a more likely destination.

Great recruit for us.
I doubt he's coming to play nsw cup.

He probably will at first but the idea would be to be a regular starter for us eventually Nofa needs to step up his 2021 season was really bad he would be the one dropped first out of Laurie and Ken those 2 played much better than Nofa did all season I just hope Nofa didn’t have a good season in 2020 just to cruise until his contract runs out we made a mistake giving him until 2025 IMO

This happened with Nofo's previous contract too. The first season in he was ordinary but starts to come good as the contract comes to an end. Go figure.

Lack of experience is gonna hurt this year, just hope a bunch of the guys in his age bracket play some solid/consistent football.

He's okay. Won't change our fortunes. Robert Jennings in 2018 looked like Ken Irvine outside Cook, Inglis, and Gagai, then he got here and looked like Kevin James. Wingers mean diddly squat in the overall scheme of an NRL season.

More fanfare over a player whose yet to step out in our colours. No shortage of expectations on this forum.

Counting to 3?

All last off season we heard how no one could tackle Roberts. That didn't translate to match conditions. So I wouldn't get too excited by Gildart doing some good things, hopeful yes, but not excited.

You been spending too much time reading the other sad boys posts, lol...

Some very promising recruits.
A lot to get excited about.

I remember when I was 15, I played footy. Before the season, we were training and I thought no one could beat us we looked that good. We won one game all year. The moral of the story, what happens at training means jack. There are 15 other teams doing the same thing this time of year.

Nofo's best drill is running backwards.
