We actually don't need to improve our attack. We were 7th in the league for the number of tries scored.

It was our defence that was poor. Defence must by the focus.

Nofa is fast enough and a good winger,and BJ has his moments,but who are the strike weapons in the backs? Lots of ifs but the backs have hardly changed since last year.I hope they all come good and kick ass,but compared to the top sides our backs are ordinary

Points should still come with a lighter and faster Leilua getting earlier ball and the space from that extra time this coming season, with the defence on the right also being much better now a new half will be there.

Hey Willow, I don’t know if Roberts is a winger or not? But I saw him play wing for South’s u/20s before a Weststigers v Dragons final in 2010 or 2011 at ANZ and he scored 4 tries that night. South’s came from behind in the 2nd half, his speed was unbelievable. Go Weststigers!

- Really tempted to give Talau a crack at lock. Has the size to play in the forwards but decent ball skills from his days as a 5/8 through the juniors.

- Liddle/Simpkin will have to share the dummy half role as I don’t think Liddle can go the 80. Downside is it limits our ability to carry a utility/extra forward on the bench as they are both specialist hookers.

- Backrow is a concern. Garner’s defence is suspect, but Blore seems to gas very quickly. Until Blore can improve his fitness he’s probably better utilised off the bench for impact. This likely means only one of Mikaele or Utoikamanu can get a spot in the 17 and I’d prefer them both on the bench in place of Garner.

- Roberts on the wing for genuine pace and to minimise his defensive lapses.

Bradley/Tuilagi - Rookies but knowing Madge's policy for blooding players will get an opportunity at some point.

wonder if AJ is a smokey to play at the back next year if so. Momirovski being first picked would clearly be a defensively minded decision.

Blore is not established. I have no idea if he is a middle forward or an edge forward. Edge forwards tend to have some pace which Blore doesn't appear to have. Chee-Kam and Garner have their moments but are lower quality edge forwards over the course of a season.

Luciano is a machine. One of the top edge backrowers in the comp.

Blore is one guy we need to come on and be a quality forward next year.

Remember for Rd1 .. Dhoueihi is suspended. Madge will not play Roberts on the wing .. if Laurie comes across he plays at 1.. and Mbye will go to 6. Madge is still not confident of Liddle going the 80 mins, so will have a back up 9 on the bench, and therefore one of the forwards will be dropped, probably Garner.

Always seems a bit off when two left footed kickers are your main options.
