Pretty funny ol Woodsy taking a shot at Tallis saying “Is that the best Qld can do”, when look at him. A guy who retired a loser languishing in reserve grade. Seems like he’s trying to develop a rep of being a straight shooter who’s not scared to “tell it like it is”. I suppose he has stay relevant somehow.

You might even say he was a grub 🤷‍♀️ I have always thought he was, and as much as I'm a former-Woods fan, but have given him plenty of stick since he left the way he did, he did nothing wrong. He played against the grub. Even in Origin (I think 🤔). Probably knows better than us just how big a grub sooky Slater is.

It's because comments get pulled apart like this that there is a problem in the first place.

Unfortunately, we are not dealing with highly trained, highly intelligent people that can think through every nuance that their comments can have.

Was Billy Slater wrong for bringing up Paul Green? Maybe. I don't know. What I heard wasn't some guy trying to deflect. He seemed to genuinely believe in what he was saying. The sentiment, that people should think before making public comments, holds great merit, even if ironically it's turned on him.

Media reporting, talk shows etc are now more about getting people to listen through scandal. I think Billy's point, regardless of how well it was delivered, is extremely valid. YOU might be able to handle it. The next guy or girl might not. Unfortunately, sticks & stones no longer 'don't break bones' in this society.

I find it somewhat refreshing...

As I've said before, woods can be a dick at times... But there are too many arms of the mainstream media managing narratives..

Its good to have these personalities say what they think and disrupt the cycle.

Woods and Gordy both have opinions and it's a healthy conversation to have .

If we put it in perspective with what's going on in Israel and Iran at the moment, it's really petty shit... A colleague of mine is from Iran and he can't contact his parents as they are trying to get out of Tehran... Thats some real world drama ..

I disagree.

Woods and Gordy are footy personalities. Their job is to talk about footy related issues, not war in the middle east.

Questioning the character of a former player, now a coach, who was charged 9/10 times he went to the judiciary is completely relevant to their objective talking about footy. Media drum up shit all the time. Its part of the beast of the media machine and has been for as long as I've known it.

Yeah agree ......Billy should be focussed on what Qld can produce on the paddock ....not a pre planned statement 1 day before the game and a retraction the day of the game
