Stay safe all Queensland residents

It looks like we're going to miss out on the festivities up here, although I think some of the coastal communities will come under the hammer soon.

Good luck down there in the Yeppoon/Rocky area. Keep dry. Ive got a mate at 1770 who lives in a swamp. I reckon he'll be a duck by Saturday.

wow… that escalated quickly.

Currently Cat 2, possibly 3 by landfall...

Stay Safe to all those in the firing line!

Just got another update through at 4pm… Its now a Cat 3, possible 4 by landfall, approx 1am tomorrow morning.

I just watched the last 6 hours of satellite imagery, and it is getting very intense, with an eye very clear on satellite... These become dangerous!

I agree Watto, for a fast moving storm it really is intensifying quickly. I hope it doesn't intensify to a cat 4\. All the best.

Up here we're just starting to get the wind on the edge of 'Lam' but no rain yet. I think it will pass by us for the most part. Probably a bit of rain & wind but nothing serious here at least.

You lads up north are in my thoughts - Goldy is copping on and off rain, and blustery winds today, and expected to get worse, however nowhere near as bad as what you two lads will be copping - it's effectvely going to be a borderline Category 1, Large Low pressure cell by the time it hits the Gold Coast.

Happy, FT, be safe lads - make sure you surface on here and check in at your earliest convenience.

Yeah same to you UD , tomorrow will see most of it apparently .
The School for the Kids has been closed tomorrow , if there expecting 400mils of water then Floods will be here .
Take care UD and everyone else

Predicting Category 1 weather North of Queensland and is supposedly hitting the Gladstone area by 4 am tomorrow morning.
Gold Coast residents can expect up to 400mils of rain the next 2 days with flash flooding and winds up to 90 kilometres an hour.

Stay safe.

How quickly things change!

Now cyclone Marcia is category 4 and classified extremely dangerous. Just spent the last few hours tidying up and tying down my missiles. Now I just hope somebody else's missiles don't end up in my place.

Missus is sure to wake me up when the damn thing crosses the coast early tomorrow morning because, sure as eggs, she won't sleep.

Oh and Happy, you'll be glad to know that there is no bread or milk for sale in Rocky anymore. Shelves are empty.

Anyway, anyone on the Qld coastal areas, please stay safe.
