Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Disagree, think people are getting the knickers in a knot and will regret seeing him go on to some pretty good heights. His form is down because his manager has spent the whole year drumming up interest in him in my opinion. Seems tired.

There must be more women here than you'd assume....
Seems a lot of people can't separate how they feel about a subject or someone from reality.

Didn't see anyone complaining when he was ragdolling Raiders or Titans.
I think he's always been over-rated (Here especially), And we're paying too much for him...
But he has plenty of upside
- Certainly not the worse prop in the game and there's no one to replace him with when he does leave.

if he’s as good as what you chalk him up to be the top clubs should be queuing up for his signature.. the players determine their price tag, not their manager

His last month of bludging on the paddock should be a red flag for any team looking to get his signature

Makes no difference what he goes on to do elsewhere, there is no point in him staying here if he is deliberately dogging it or just cannot mentally cope with being here any longer.

Total waste of time, cap space and money being here if he can't or won't turn things around and provide value for money.

Agree with your comments about the manager being at the very least partially responsible for the situation that we now have.

Yeah....
Kinda like how Papalii hasn't been real good here and struggled to get a top tier club to sign him.

You wanna talk about red flags, The fact the Panthers announced Papalii out of absolutely nowhere - And still haven't replaced JFH for next year is about the best red flag you might get.

Yeah....

Have you seen their bench forwards they are set without recruiting an over priced prop.
Ivan uses the Bellamy play book for recruiting and never purchases a player at the top of their game.
Api and Papali’i both were on shaky ground with their clubs before being signed by the Panthers.
I think the Dolphins or remaining with us are the only plays for Stef.

Paps probably didn’t command the insane $$$ Stephanie’s manager wants

Real clubs are determining his true worth

As for JFH, Penrith probably have some talented junior prop coming through they’ll pull out of their ass…they’ll be fine

I have a theory about the announcement tomorrow.

I think is Stefo Extending

Because the club/s don't normally go to media like this for an external signing and they will pump this up as a good story in retaining top players.. (it's hard to write that "Top Players" considering how he has played recently but I'm putting that down to all this contract stuff on his mind.

Just my gut feeling so time will tell.

You heard it here first. Buzz. Eat your heart out...

Fair assessment

He’s good on his day and it’s all about getting that out of him consistently. Obviously Bellamy sees something, Flanno and Ricky had a look. His form this year has probably frightened a few away.

My main reasons for hoping we keep him are his upside (potential), and the fact that there aren’t any obvious replacements available who would be an upgrade.

I was on record saying he never deserved his origin jersey so I’m hardly his #1 fan.

Really??? Dont see anyone rushing to buy him either.

While I take your point, it’s on Richo to create an environment where talented players can actually show their wares. Letting them go gets us nowhere.

How would we know? If Storm are interested it’d be crazy to think others aren’t. 800K is a pretty good offer, maybe other clubs are baulking at the money.

Penrith paying full freight for paps next year.. I think it’s about 650k

All I am concerned about is the amount $ that has been mentioned.
He is ok for no longer than 20 minute stints,
Let’s look at his value comparing him to Pat Carrigan who played 80 minutes in a State of Origin game.
I think there are more middle forwards around today that are in Stefano’s group that should lower the wage compared to players like
Carrigan
Yeo
Hopgood
