"It's been a lot quieter without those guys here, (Ryan and Heighington)" winger Lote Tuqiri observed.
"We still miss them every now and again, but we've had to move on just as they have.
"There's not been as much nonsense around training, even though we've still got a few jokers left like Liam Fulton.
"There's not as much mucking around as we did before, but in time that will all come."

Anyone slighly annoyed at the quotes? I mean, I realise he is talking more about different personalities. The fact that Ryan and Heighington were outgoing personalities, i'm sure every club has them and needs them to build a bond. However the quotes from Tuqiri are pretty loose and poorly put together. I mean a quote like mucking around at training is something you would expect from a 12 year old not a professional footballer after a season where you have bombed out big time.
I just it smacks of the fact that Sheens let things drift along and created such a culture of comfort that the players took advantage of it to an extent. Someone posted rumours last year where Sheens had to stop a training session due to 2 blokes clowning around, no idea if this had any merit. I'm sure Ryan and Heighington trained hard and they were passionate players, probably 2 of the more passionate players on the field. However the quotes makes it seem like the place was just a barrel of laughs and pranks at training with not the required focus or intensity. I just couldn't see someone like Bellemy and hopefully Potter putting up with this boys club mentality.
Anyway bottom line hopefully these departures signal the start of a new era. Whilst we have had some success over the past 7-10 years, ultimately we have been a flaky side that goes missing when things get a bit hard. Hopefully under Potter, there is more accountability at training and in matches. We might not be brilliant from day 1 however surely this will breed a better culture long term.
