Hayne even at his young age (Same exact Birthday as Tim Mannah) is NRL hardened.

On his day he is Great for the Eels and in Blue. He was played out of position last series and the eels all were crap in 2010.

Duggs is emerging - He isnt beating the door down just yet.

PS CB - Have you seen this website http://thingsboganslike.com/ - I found it yest. (Willows gonna Kill me)

I agree that he is great, on his day though. At origin level he is just as dangerous on the wing though, given that he gets service.

PS: Interesting site. The term bogan is bandied about too much for my liking these days. I identify more with the classical "wifebeaters & thongs are appropriate attire" bogan. I'm too yobbo-esque relate to bogans these days. But, I digress…

If most people think Dugan > Hayne (even thought I don't like this idea), I think this is a real good possibility

1\. Dugan
2\. Hayne
5\. Gordon

This way, you could get rid of that sh!thouse called Morris and the talent of Hayne is not wasted

16\. Lahrs
17\. Galloway

Strong team although I'm not sold on Whatmough, Weyman or Hayne.

Watmough, as much as I hate him, has had some great performances for NSW in the past, including a man of the match performance in 09.

Weyman is a good high workrate prop, sure he's not flash, but he will hit it up all night long.

Hayne is a no brainer for me, if he plays at his best he can win a game almost off his own bat.

NSW coach Ricky Stuart has taken his first step towards turning State of Origin fortunes around by naming a "Blues in waiting" squad.

The three day camp taking place in late January will feature a mix of NRL and Toyota Cup players Stuart believes could feature in future Origin teams.

Mal Meninga began by naming a developing Queensland squad when he took over as Origin coach, and the Maroons have won an unprecedented five consecutive series since.

Stuart is hoping a similar process of initiation can ensure the Blues' prospects can be groomed for the intensity of Origin before they debut.

Stuart said one of the main objectives of the camp is to have players aware of pathways for selection and have some further knowledge regarding the tradition and history of State of Origin

"I am of firm belief that Origin victories are built on the culture and attitude of players and their desire to have respect for the NSW jumper," Stuart said.

"I am fully aware of the differences required for players to adapt to Origin football as compared to the weekly grind of the premiership and hopefully with these players we can make a difference at Origin time.

"Many of the players have progressed from very successful junior representative sides for NSW and into NRL teams and we believe they have the ability to progress further into senior Origin teams.

"One of the key messages for our "Blues in waiting" squad members will be that all they can do is prepare and be ready for when this time arrives."

His 51-man squad features inexperienced NSW representatives Jamal Idris, Jarrod Mullen, Josh Morris, Tim Mannah and Kade Snowden.

A number of the NRL's top performers considered to be on the cusp of selection were also named, including Tim Moltzen, Keith Galloway, Jamie Soward, Josh Dugan, Chris Heighington, Kevin Gordon, Mark Minichiello, Akuila Uate and Beau Champion.

Veteran Canberra lock Alan Tongue and Souths winger Nathan Merritt have been named, after years of being talked about as Origin players but never actually picked.

Stuart has also given a chance to a number of lower grade players he's identified as the State's best crop of young talent.

Tariq Sims, Ryan James, Cameron King, Drury Low, Boyd Cordner and Aaron Woods are expected to progress quickly once they fully establish themselves in first grade.

The camp will take place at Homebush from January 21-23.

Tigers, Dogs and Raiders each have 7.

Some decent size and talent in there however I still think where a few years away from troubling this Morons side.

Happy with Woods getting in, but what about Gower? He plays for Dragons now but still he deserves to be in it with Woods does. And I'm happy that 7 Tigers got a look in but what about Gibbs?? Maybe he is too old coz Farah didn't get in as well. So does that mean they are a certainty?? If too old, then why is Alan Tongue and Nathan Merrit in it??

It sounds like I'm complaining but I'm just curious :s

No Chris Lawrence…..

I assume Farah is not there because he has already played Origin and as such is not a "future player" - that being said - Idris, Morris, Snowden & Mannah have all debuted but are named!!!

Hopefully for Faff & Rowdy - they are considered Australian reps now and are included in the "probables" squad with Gallen, Gidley & co!

Blokes like Albert Kelly, Josh Jackson, Boyd Cordner aren't even first graders yet (although same goes for Woods)!

Gibbs has just missed out - which is no surprise to me!!

I would have picked him - but as I said I am far from surprised with his ommission!

Well I am more than surprised! Aiden Tolman, Tim Mannah, Matt Prior etc. and still know Gibbs? Unless he is in the probables squad this is pathetic.

And this time yes, I'm complaining. More than any of the Tigers who made it, Gibbs deserves it more than anyone maybe barring Heighno.

I don't disagree T_P - but Stuart just doesn't rate him mate!

On a positive note - I am very pleased for all the young blokes named - especially big Keith & Blake Ayshford!!

It is well deserved!

Smart decision to include Aaron Woods… My pick for 2011 Dally M Rookie of the Year!

I'm wondering whos spot he will be taking in the top 17 to enable the game time to take out this award.

I assumed as he was 18th man in one game this year he would already be in the frame for present at not future

True Centaur but since when has logic dictated the NSW Blues?

The appointment of Bob Fulton to be Stickys selection advisor is enough to make a Blues fan sick

Mannah played game 3 this year and did a good job, deserves his spot in the squad. Tolman is the best young prop in the NRL (he's only 21 I believe), and should definitely feature for the Blues in the future. Matt Prior is more a back rower than a prop. Gibbs missing out to Mannah and Tolman is hardly an outrage, it's not like they're hacks.

This is embarassing - it stinks of unprofessionalism - lack of genuine preparation - and unbridled desperation (why would NSW try to recruit a player to the emerging squad who in 2008 declared their allegiance to NZ????) -

See below from today's SMH by Chris Dutton:
–----------
Drury Low's dream of an international career with New Zealand forced the talented Canberra Raiders flyer to turn down an invitation from Ricky Stuart and the NSW Blues.

Auckland-born Low had to choose between New Zealand and State of Origin last week when Stuart included the 20-year-old in his Blues In Waiting squad.

It was a baffling move from the Blues after Low nominated New Zealand as his country of choice on his contract when he signed a four-year deal with the Raiders in 2008.

Even more baffling considering Low played for the Junior Kiwis against Australia at the end of last year.

And while Low admitted the invitation was flattering, he said he would not turn his back on New Zealand.

"It was definitely a hard choice," Low said at training yesterday.

"A lot of us islander boys would love to play Origin.

"But representing our country is a lot better for us and that's what I want to do.

"I did think about it ... my dad spoke to me about it, but I didn't really want to.

"New Zealand is my priority.

"It's not the first time one of Canberra's talented juniors has been torn between potential international and Origin duties.

Winger Daniel Vidot was ready to play for Samoa last year before finding out it would jeopardise his chances of playing for Queensland in the 2011 Origin series.

Vidot opted to pledge his commitment to the Maroons.

But Low is content with his choice to be available for New Zealand.

Now he wants to use the rest of Canberra's pre-season to try and force his way into David Furner's NRL team.

The former under-20s star is in his first pre-season as a full-time member of Furner's squad.

Having watched his ex-junior teammates Vidot, Josh Dugan, Jarrod Croker, Joel Thompson and Shaun Fensom establish themselves as first-graders, Low wants to follow the same path.

Low played two NRL games last year, but he is yet to get a regular spot in the top grade.

To improve his chances of impressing Furner, Low is almost 7kg heavier than he was at the start of last year.

"I'm just under 91kg now," Low said.

"It gives me a bit of extra weight and muscle ... I felt too light playing on the field.

"Coming from [the under-20s] to first grade is a massive change, it's a lot more physical and I think the extra weight is going to help me.

"It was tough watching the boys go up, it was good for them, but I was a bit upset.

"I waited and waited and finally got my chance and hopefully I get another go this year."

While Low attempts to break into the top 17, Raiders skipper Alan Tongue has set his sights on an injury-free season.

…. blah .... blah....
