Superconductors

Is anyone here into science much ?

I have my Physics assignment this year on superconductors and I'm really intrigued by the possible application of superconductors in the future. Thinking of super-fast computers, power lines without any heat loss and detecting magnetic field sooo precisely. Even think of lawn mowers as not getting so hot and noisy when they are used with superconductors.

Just thought I would share my research with all of you'se

PS, please feel free to add stuff to the thread, who knows it might help me in my assignment !

Also, have a look at youtube videos on maglev trains if you haven't already. Speeds of 512 km/hr, without any friction or loss of energy.

God bless Science.

i did an electronics course at tafe over a decade ago. are those the trains that they say would travel from sydney to melbourne in 3 hours if we get them?

IDK about that ?

actually, Sydney is 1000 km from Melb, so ye maybe even less than 2 hours :astonished:

Maybe it was Sydney to Brisbane then.

I like science couldn't hold much of a conversation about it though, but I listen to a lot of dr Karl and a BBC science podcast.
