Surely we can get a second tier exemption now

We're mathematically out of contention. What harm would it do the bloody NRL if they let us play Brooks and maybe Moses? Stop being petulant and have some common decency and sense NRL.

You'd hope so wouldn't you? Farah hinted in an interview that if we got mathematically out of it he'd like to see Brooks playing so maybe that's a hint of things to come.

Whats the point of playing Brooks at this stage? the season is dead. If anything play him in NSW cup, get him some experience playing with the big boys, and give him an off-season to build combo's with the first grade squad. His time will come, have patience.

I'll never understand it.
Not being allowed to blood a young player for his debut goes against all the reasons the salary cap exists. It's there to stop clubs from signing all the big names and encourage giving the juniors a go…
It's absolutely ridiculous...

The point is…..and it seems patnetly obvious,so we dont have to watch Bunji and Anasta sully our great colours with their inept performances ever again.

I assume the point would be to demonstrate the large difference in quality between under 20s/nsw cup and first grade?

Get him use to playing with men. He's played his entire life playing against boys, Its not going to hurt him or the club if he's wrapped in cotton wool till round one next yr. The last 2 rookie of the yr's have been halfbacks who debuted in round one. Its not the end of the world if he doesn't get a bit of FG experience before the end of the yr.

Its not the end of the world, but its not going to hurt him either.

Letting him taste NRL for a few matches and going into a full offseason knowing what lay ahead is only a good thing IMO.

But in the interest of winning football matches I'd prefer him in the halves to say, Anasta. Like he's literally going to be better at football. It's not to blood him, it's because he's the best option.

At most Brooks should come off the bench 30 mins to go. It's too big a step up from 20s. Bring him in like Barba. No rush.

Tonight just a test of whether Anasta is a realistic 5/8 option for next year. We got the Answer.

Siro should stay at 5/8 unless we can get Wallace as a 5/8 for two seasons as Moses grows.

Totally agree, and will be very disappointed if he is played in NRL this year.

What is the point, is it going to help him or the team to get anywhere? There is only one answer, and that is a big no. Seven months is a lot of strength and growing time for a teenager, and nothing helps more than a full off-season running the team in the development of a young player.

What if Potter playing Anasta at 7 was a ploy to get the NRL to give us an exemption?

haha

I was thinking that might actually have been the case. Potter figured Anasta would play so badly someone would jump the fence and clobber him. Voila - all but Benji officially out of action.

(Putting aside the fact the whole team have had a go in the halves)
