tbh I don't know too much about him. Is he a good defensive centre ? And How big and quick is he?

182cm tall, 99kg, solid player. This signing took far longer to announce than I anticipated, but it was never in doubt. Next stop…Curtis Rona :sunglasses:

Nice signing. Imagine Rona 100 odd kg, Suli 100 odd kg, Milne 99kg. Finally some size to the backs.

Yep, very exciting and Fonua is solid too

Thought he was bigger than that, so not much taller than Nofoaluma

Biggest recruitment drive I've ever seen at this club! So nice to actually have some money to spend on decent players, after all the years of drought and signing one or two fringe players per season.

Starting to look like a whole new backline for 2018, hopefully with some speed and defensive skills

Not just biggest recruitment drive at this club - I can;t remember any team completely rebuilt to this extent in one season!

In 1991 the Wok bought Gillespie, langmack, Thomas, wynn, Rampling, Gibbs, Farrah , & dymock to compliment henjak, Lindner and if it wasn't for the roosters we would have got terry hill. Transformed wests from easy beats to semi finalists in 12 months. They could have won the comp that year but for injuries and a couple of poor passes from Jason Taylor

I remember!

Well said.
Actually dymock came in 92 with Hill they were meant for 91\. Yeah those intercepts from JT against Norths rd1 still bagged a club championship no mean feat.

As for now I'm excited Cleary gone for lots of depth I reckon only need 1 big signing more like Roberts.

I expect there will be more signing news Thursday or Friday to take the Fans minds of the walloping we are going to cop on Sunday…

Well there you go…Well done Wests Tigers...Welcome aboard Taane..

Happy with our backs…... now for a couple of hard running second rowers and maybe another prop....

Yes at bargain basement prices. Hopefully the young bloke who made his debut last week is a lock in the backrow.

I reckon Marsters would do great in the 2nd row.

I tried to find his highlights reel on YouTube alas he doesn't have one, but I did come across an article from 2015 where Benji was quoted as saying Milne had one of the best in and away' and flick pass he's even seen. I'll be keeping my eye out for that for the rest of the season :supporter:

Benji Marshall says St George Illawarra Dragons recruit Taane Milne has 'best in and away' he's seen

Michael Carayannis Benji Marshall describes rookie teammate Taane Milne as having "one of the best in and aways and flick passes I've seen" as the young Dragon continues to impress.

TBH I've certainly not seen anything from him today that makes me excited to have him on board.. he made a big defensive hit but other than that his reads were very poor.

He did absolutely nothing in attack.

Edit: just sent to the bin for hitting one of the Morris twins. What an imbecile.

Been absolutely woeful today and has now been binned for a punch.
If this is his standard he'll be in reserves all year.

Yeah..Milne has a brain snap and terrible defensively ..but gets angry a lot..we need angry I'm told,,

I would give him a chance. He has showed through previous rounds he can defend and does have a set of skills otherwise no one would of got excited when he signed with us. The dragons were hopeless in attack today so their was some obvious frustation showed. I dont condone striking the way tanne did but i dont think he deserves to have the red marker put through his name come on guys give him a chance ☺

People got excited because the club signed someone ..well another Plodder IMO not a very dynamic type that is for sure, this gives me no confidence moving forward if this is the standard the club is pursuing , as previously posted a bigger KN.

Still say he will be a very good signing. Today he was he was like most of the other dragon players..not so good, but I think he is a lot better than what we have at present, or should I say has the ability to be a lot better than what we have at present
