What was the game a couple years back where we lost at the death at Leichhardt, where the ref didn't realise the time was up? They then blamed the ground clock…

No I think it was a half time siren had sounded and the ref let play go on and they scored…..I remember Farah blowing up think it was against rabbits

i think manly? what a load of crap that was

It was Manly - thankfully it didn't impact the result at all (we belted them).
I think there was a similar incident later in the year that literally did cost a team the game; possibly St George down in Melbourne?

Has anyone mentioned the Dragon's tackle on Tuqiri in the dying seconds of the 2010 semi-final which wasn't penalised?

Yeah Jeremy Smith knees to the back.

They are too chicken to make those kinds of calls that would change the course of a GF qualifier.

One of our own Chris Heighningon not falling on the ball during our semi in 2010\. Cost us a GF spot the idiot.

Yes, Heighno fiddled around for what felt like an eternity at the base of the scrum, but then the Roosters front row burst through the scrum offside and grabbed the ball. Should have been a penalty to us, but two plays later Anasta, of all people, kicked a field goal sending the game into golden point.

That game burns but can't say it cost us the GF spot.

We went on to play two more weeks and narrowly lose to the eventual premiers. Sure Roosters made it from the other side after defeating Penrith, but.can't say for sure we'd have beaten the Panthers. In fact we were 1-1 v Panthers that year (0-3 v Roosters, 3-0 v Canberra, 0-2 v Saints).

I'd rather lose a GF qualifier 13-12 than a GF, that's for sure.

The loss to Warriors was much worse the following year, for me - to comfortably account for our nemesis St George only to get jagged in the 79th minute by an arsey Warriors side. Warriors shock Melbourne away but then get routed by Manly in a very underwhelming GF display.

We'd already beaten Warriors twice that year, plus had winning a regular-season records against all Top 8 sides except Brisbane and Melbourne, with 1-1 against Saints.

Smith was then cited and with an early guilty plea was free to play in the Grand Final, yet the offence was deemed a non penalty during the game…............go figure???? :imp:

Was anyone at Campbelltown in 2001 when Tigers played the Raiders? Raiders scored on Fulltime and were two behind. Bill Harrigan called Darren Senter out to quieten the crowd in the Eastern stand so that the Raiders goalkicker could keep his concentration on the kick and not be distracted by the noise the crowd were making behind him. Kick missed fortunately.

Graeme O'Grady penalised for being offside after regathering his own kick and scoring in the 1978 final.

What 2 teams were involved in this game? I don't know this one.

wests magpies, and manly. the ref was Greg Hartley….. enough said.
to this day, I'm still peed off and get very, irate and angry about it. :smiling_imp: :imp:

it will be 38 years, since this happened later this season.
luckily Gary Bakerloo and I don't hold a grudge.

Don't remember it but doesn't surprise me. He was an A grade turkey who made it up as he went on.

There was also a Darius Boyd play-the-ball in which he didn't use his foot - something that they were cracking down on at the time.
Whilst both of those losses were heartbreaking in 2010, I thought St George were more than worthy winners given they'd been minor premiers two years in a row, and were just absolutely clinical.

2011 was the massive missed opportunity IMO.
We were so impressive in that first week against St George, and then in the first half against the Warriors. Lost control of the ruck when Gibbs got injured, and yet still had ample opportunity to close the game out. Classic Benji and Farah running it on the last with 2 mins to go, rather than putting the ball down into the corner.
I fancied us against Melbourne the next week, and we had Manly's number too, having dominated them only a few weeks earlier (though the scoreboard didn't reflect as much).

I forgot that golden point game 851, where the Raiders bloke was at least 5 metres offside to shut down our field goal attempt. We get shafted on some of the most dodgy decisions in the history of the game…. today being a massive case in point. It is more than a coincidence you would think.

It was Todd carney, he was atleast 5m offside and he shut princey down.. Or stopped him kicking it all together..

Or how about I think it may have been 2004 when mat utai dropped the ball from the second half kick off, refs said play on and they scored at the end of tht set!
It was a close game too

v Storm at Leichhardt. Lawrence held back off a ball that should have been a penalty try. Tedesco taken in a high shot and the player put on report after the Storm scored a try.

And having a try scored against us off a blatant forward pass while one of ours gets called back.

This is what Im talking about - COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

We are too nice to complain and put things in refs head.

SO don't expect any favours.

The big dogs of the coaching world would be laughing at us.
